CDblunderbuss:
If I walk into a GW store and asks for CD’s, which models would I be able to get? I’m thinking of converting some to CD’s but I’d like to know how many of the original models I could lay my hands on without having to check on eBay.

Neil:
You won’t be able to get any. The last bits of the range (big hat stuff) went out of production about a year/18 months ago (even that had to come from mail order).
You would be able to get Orcs, Goblins and Black Orcs, and if you go to Mail Order, you can probaly still get thingy Khans hobgoblin wolfboyz and the Hellcannon.
Other than this, I am afraid its either E-bay (or similar) or time to convert something.
Loki:
A big fat 0 i am sorry to say. GW have not sold chaos dwarfs in store since the mid 90’s and stopped selling them fro mail order a few years back, ebay is the only way now
Bassman:
Do not they sell the Hellcannon in shops anymore? This is a pity…
CDblunderbuss:
Crap, hoped that there where some left. So eBay it is then…
Loki:
no the hell cannon can only be ordered from direct sales on line
Kera foehunter:
Well i think my store still have a hell canon !!
but out here it may never sell
Crube:
Some independant retailers may still have some old stocks, particularly the out of the way places, that don’t really know what they’re doing, but I’d be surprised you’d get much…
eBay and trade threads (here, or Bartertown, or Warseer) may getyou some at either a reasonable price, or for trade for other stuff) may help you out - be sure to check out the wonderful ‘going rates’ thread here first though…
Baggronor:
Wot? No Hellcannon in stores? Even though its part of WoC…? Strange…
If I were a frothing crazed fanboy I might even start suspecting they were considering changing the crew models to fit in with the rumoured Fantasy FW range… but knowing GW its probably just massive optimism on my part…
Border Reiver:
No, GW’s keeping shelf space for the “we know we can sell multiple boxes of these guys” items, and they’ll get the other stuff for you if you want (Hellcannon, kislev, etc.). It’s like ordering from Mail Order, but without having to pay shipping.
GRNDL:
If you have a really well connected FLGS, you should be able to order a Hellcannon through them. That’s how I got mine.
snowblizz:
No, GW's keeping shelf space for the "we know we can sell multiple boxes of these guys" items,Or as they are known around here: Space Marines.

CDblunderbuss:
They gonna stop selling Hellcannons in stores? :o
By the hat I need to hurry and get one then.
Crube:
They already did in most of them CDB…
Kera foehunter:
i see another store by me that had one !!
snowblizz:
They gonna stop selling Hellcannons in stores? :oGW is putting a lot of the slow moving stuff into Direct Only, with certain models they don't seem to be able to fit onto the shelves. And a healthy dose of stuff you might actually want so you are forced to go to their netshop. The guy who is doing store orders is frustrated because even though he might want to order in stuff for the store they won't let him.
By the hat I need to hurry and get one then.

Tarrakk Blackhand:
Well guys, I own a hobby shop and I’m one of GW “Satalite” stores, being a GW retailer and not a GW chain…well anyway…
When I place my orders and something is special that is from GW Direct, they usually just put my call through. I can get the direct stuff, but I am now dealing with a 2nd order.
To answer BB’s question - The only current CD’s out there are the Hell Cannon and it’s crew. you will have to get this direct, or from a GW store that can get you the item, but as far as the older tall hat CD’s Lammasu’s, Great Taurus, Hobgoblins, etc…they’re all out of production.
The next step that all of us are doing if you want Chaos Dwarfs is to buy a Battle For Skull Pass set and a package of Green Stuff and hobby tools and watch Xander’s conversion How~To videos.
Appart from this, you can also buy the Goblin Wolf Riders as this is probably the closest unit still on the market that fits into the CD army…in theory. You would still have to modify or paint the Goblins a little different to represent Hobgoblins.
Appart from this, if you want the old CD’s and Hobgoblins, which are now out of production, then you have to go either to Ebay or to old hobby shops that carry GW stuff and hope you find something there. I found some CD’s for Blood Bowl, but they’re not the same.
CDblunderbuss:
Thanks for replies guys (and gal).

The next step that all of us are doing if you want Chaos Dwarfs is to buy a Battle For Skull Pass set and a package of Green Stuff and hobby tools and watch Xander’s conversion How~To videos.Yeah, it seems I’m gonna have to do that. Been watching the videos Xander made and I’m probably gonna have to give it a go if I want CD’s (great videos btw, but I’m gonna go for hats instead of masks

I found some CD’s for Blood Bowl, but they’re not the same. The old hobbos isn’t that important to me, was mostly the CD’s I wanted. But I think I’m gonna try some convertions instead of buying the old ones, as it seems a bit more profitable (and probably more satisfying).
The Brain:
You can still get the Blood Bowl stuff through GW direct sales and online. They may not help with block units but they make good war machine crews. Look out though they are expensive. $50 US for the team and $22 for the bull centaur.
