Blessings of Hashut upon you, be ye tall of hat, masked of face or the other ones!
Ok, so I’ve been reading on the Forums and talking to other players who get really upset by the chalice. I just don’t see how it’s so awesome. I’m aware I’m probably doing it wrong, but I always seem to take away 3 of my dice and 1 or 2 of the enemies, it’s very frustrating. Can you guys give me some pointers on getting the most out of it? because with all the High magic and Doomfire Warlocks around at the moment I don’t think there’s ever been a better time to find out!

Discussed here:
Thread also contains a lot of tactics.
Basically:
Can be used at any time during the magic phase.
In your turn - use after you use last power dice, so you'll only steal dispel dice. Leaving your opponent defenceless.
In opponents turn - dispel his stuff. And when you're out of dice, steal his remaining power dice.
I would never have thought to use it that way, but I can’t believe they say it was ‘intended’ to be used that way (as on the FB page. Do these clowns even play the game?!

Heh. FW is more about churning out spectacular miniatures and background books rather than the sharpest rules. They're not games developers, and it shows. Still, I think they've done reasonably well despite some warts.

When we asked them this question back when the book was released the answer was something along the lines of "play it as written, but it was not intented for it to be played this way".
Some how over the last couple of years they have changed their opinion and have written it is "intended" to be used the way it was written.
I think ultimatley they designed it not thinking people would play it at any point in the phase. And in 2012 (I believe) they decided that this was what they intended anyways :)
Time of Madness
Is it hated on so much because it’s not one use only? Or is it ? IMO if it’s one use only it would be a cool game breaking item to turn the tides in your favor or seal the victory …
I suppose it can be used as many times in the game as you want though and that’s why people don’t make/lose friends?
No that’s wrong Hashut. You roll two dice. One for you and one for your opponent declaring each before rolling. Otherwise you couldn’t roll a double one or double six and lose/gain a wound.

One more question about this item and I know it’s probably been asked and answered 100 times.
There is no specific wording on how many times per turn it can be used. Can I use it in my magic phase as well as my opponents, ergo twice per turn and 12 times per game.
Perhaps there is something in the brb stating that items cannot be used more than once per game turn?
