[Archive] ideas and advice?

jumpingcrayfish :

hi,

hope that everyone has has a very good new years and christmas.

with the vampires being redone and seeing some of the models that are coming out i would like to try and finish of my vampire army i started of a while ago that i never got a chance to finish.

i always like to try and theme my armies on something and as the old vampire book was coming out i thought it would be a cool idea to have a vampire werewolf army (i really like the stories behind them and i think that with some of the models coming out that it would be easier to do and could look really nice).

so i spoke to i believe one of the guys on this website and i asked him to green stuff me a werewolf model to use as my lord i absolutely loved the model and i decided that it was certain. now with the new book coming out i would like to try and finish the army.

some of my idea are using chaos warriors get rid of the head add some green stuff to make them look more wolf like and use them as my grave guard.

i was gonna try my hand at sculpting a vargulf

skellys i was planning as leaving normal

and ghouls i was thinking about shaving all the silly bone bits off and adding little bits of fur on them.

if there is anyone with any ideas or advice they can give me would be most helpful.

thank you

May have been me if you are who I think you are :)

You could 'wolf-up' the new Vargheist/Crypt Horrors - they would work nicely with greenstuff fur. Monstrous Infantry Werewolves would look awesome.

i believe that it was you

i was in gw today and i was thinking about using the vargulf body with some rat ogre arms.

just having a bit of problems thinking about grave guard do you think the chaos warriors would work or would they be to big?

cheers

I’ve made a werewolf from an Orc body with a plastic wolf head from the Goblin wolfriders. Only a little greenstuff needed to fill the gaps and no skill required to sculpt it.

You'd have trouble fitting them on 20mm bases I think.

Castellan:

You could convert some using some 40k Space wolf bits. I’ve seen some nice conversions using those. There are plenty more options, such as greenstuff that you could do.

jumpingcrayfish :

ill have to check for a smaller model to fit on a small base but that is armored enough to still look good if anyone has seen any conversions or can think of anything that could be useful it would be most appreciated.

im not to sure about using 40k models in fantasy never really was
