As GW ever published any kind of information about it?The only thing I’ve read for sure is in the Ogres rulebook. One of there magic items is a statue from an ind god worshiped by humans and “humanoids”, that cause terror on Chaos followers.
Is there anything else?
A friend told me that in the last Gotrek and Felix novel there is a mention of them going to Ind but no more information.
By the way, thanks a lot for my slave!!! Althought I dont know what I’ve done to deserve it.
in the 15 or so years ive been into warhammer ive never read anything published about Ind, although im sure one of the pirates in dan abnetts fell cargo is from Ind and is typically what you would expect.
All I know about it is that they worship a vast number of different deities which are mostly manifestations of Tzeentch.
I assume from it’s name and location in the warhammer world that it is loosely modelled on historical India in our world in much the same way as the Empire is loosely modelled on the Holy Roman Empire (medieval Germany), Tilea on Italy etc etc.
The statue that you refer to which causes terror in Chaos followers could be a statue of Malal?
Brahma in Indian mythos is the creator, I imagine that the gods of chaos would fear a creator, as the purpose of chaos is to bring destruction and disorder. That is, given that Brahmir is really Brahma. But being as their names are so similar, and GW has a tendency to lack creativity in this area, I imagine its a safe bet to assume so.

I must have asked this a million times, but who the hell is Malal - I've been in the hobby 12 years and never heard of him. Is he another creation that was killed off like squats and the fimir?
According to the rulebook, Ind is know as the land of a thousand gods. Spices and jade are their main exports and the country is said to be full of bloodthristy cults. The upper classes are supposed to be very rich and live in golden temples.
I asked this question because ive been using some old foundry afghans/indians as mercenaries with my CD but Iv never find any kind of background that could justified their presence. So i was wandering if there was any information about the relation between ind and chaos. The statue from ogres kingdoms suggest that they are ennemies but metro gnome mention something about some indu beastmen.
Any opinion??
This map shows the great maw so I assume that he is update
The beastman thing mentioned was just reference to something in the BoC book. It just says that beastmen will be different depending on the area and the native animals in that area, and thus the beastmen of ind would most probably be cat-like.

Its hilarious when GW try and make the Empire look like the Holy Roman Empire. They make so many mistakes one of the worst being that hardly any of the Elector Counts have Medieval German Noble titles. Not even Karl Franz does. And those few who do have the title placed wrong :hat off
I know But I still cant help but find it amusing that some of them hold German titles while others dont. And tbh it resembles the Holy Roman Empire in a lot of ways even though its not supposed to be an exact replica. The system of government for example is very very similar.
I think the main reason GW made the world that way is to make it more accessible for newbies. It’s pretty easy simply by looking at the warhammer map to get an intuitive idea of what the different areas and peoples are like (and therefore of knowing what army you would like to do without having to read piles of background material).
I agree, though, that it is kind of cringe inducing sometimes.
