Fallen246:

Hey there, Fallen here.

I’m 18, been playing Warhammer, 40k and Mordheim since a while. I think at least 6 years dedicated with all of them, delved very slightly into it all before.

Used to focus on 40k til I realised having everyone equipped with a gun made the shooting phase more yet less decisive, and everyone I played against using Space Marines made the game… repetitive.
Been playing Mordheim against anyone willing, I’m actually rather inadvertedly good at it. Well, most of the time, and when people don’t powergame with a 20-man SKaven warband where everyone has slings and they get me in a corner and shoot 40 times and… Well yeah I have been known to rant.
And Warhammer Fantasy has been the hardcore for me for the past year now. I’m still getting the hang of it, generally using the evil armies (like Chaos Dwarves, though not often as my most common opponent, my brother, claims they’re unofficial and wails at me) and I thoroughly enjoy it even when losing the game… which is sadly often when it comes to Fantasy…

Anywho, only other GW-related forums I’v been on were Golden Throne (never posted ever) and the Specialist Games section, which I have been denied access to lately for some reason… the whole site won’t open…

Anywho, hi everyone. And to Taak especially, who referred me here.

Servius:

Welcome to the site.

Nice to see new people… On the point of Chaos Dwarfs not being official… they are. Just as Dogs of War are still Official Lists.

They are in the US and other countries Not Legal on the Grand Tournament Circuit with a few exception on the independent circuit.

There is a difference between Official and Tournament Legal.

I go though something similar so I know how you feel.

The ruling comes from where the rules were printed… Ravening Hordes… Which was a Pamphlet of Army lists given with the (at the time) new 6th Edition Book… This was because the difference between 5th and 6th edition were monumental. In the first paragraph of that pamphlet it stated "The lists presented here are “get you by lists” and should be used until the respective Army Book is printed. As Chaos Dwarfs are still as yet not printed since that pamphlet those rules are still legal. There have been various erratas since but all relate to the original Chaos Dwarf List presented in Ravening Hordes.

On the Site thing with Specialist Games… Yeah they closed the site and integrated it with the New Monolithic Design of the GW website… AKA the worlds only Viscous Solid Website… Even Glass Flows faster!

Odd that if you look beyond the GW-only crowd to the general gamer crowd, Marines are nowhere near as popular. I love my Orks, and tend to settle thing up close, even against Marines.

JMS:

Hi,

I’m 28 Years old from Germany, playing warhammer (Fantasy and 40k) for 13 years.

I started playing CD not only for their background and fluff, but also because I love the sawing, hacking, reattaching and modelling thing. So for me it’s not a pity that there are not existing CD models at the moment

Greetz JMS

Modeling is loads of fun. I’ll hopefully have time to do some over the encroaching holidays…

All good now.

Greetings Fallen! I am Cryonicleech, the true son of chaos. (I’m pretty sure 100% insanity allows me to claim this title)

All your opponents played space marines??? FOOLS! CHAOS WILL CRUSH THEM INTO THE GROUND!!!

Also, welcome JMS. I also love to convert things, but as of yet I have to wait before I can hack things to bits and “fix them up” again

enjoy your stay.

p.s. Sojourn, diggin the christmas avatar, but my very little amount of self-control keeps me from drooling

Gabbo:

Hi everybody!

I’m 27 and I met Games Workshop on when the first WD magazine was issued in Spain (where I am from). I never made a “full” army and played frequently, but I’ve played several times with dwarfs and ogres due to models availability from friends, although my main target was to play with CD. Now I want to play with them, already got some models from ebay. I’ll post soon in army list section as well as other questions regarding last WHF edition.

I’m sure I’ll learn a lot from you, hope I can help in the same way.

See you!
