Hi all,

Hope you all had a great holiday break. I am Hydra and have played Warhammer for a number of years now. I started playing and collecting chaos dwarfs, just in time to see them removed from play,LOL. Well I still enjoy playing them and hopefully soon they will get another list.

I live in Gosport, England, but have travelled a bit before settling here.

Currently i am working on a 800 point army, with a 100 point reserve for a convention in Plymouth in Feburary.

hydra:

I am using 5 x Bull centeurs for my reseves, as per competion rules they will have various effects and conditions per battle.

3 x LvL 2 Mages

2 x Bolt throwers

remaining points in Dwarfs, with one unit of 20 command and BIG axes.

Kera foehunter:

Hey Hydra

Welcome to CDO, hope you have a great time here, enjoy your stay :cheers

BilboBaggins:

Yes, I use the name of the Hobbit on many forums like Bugman’s.

I play Lord of the Rings and have been playing Warhammer for several years (Empire, Dwarf, Slayer). I traded with a friend to get the Chaos Dwarf Army he was Acquiring but didn’t have time to build. He figured I could give it the love it needed.

After striping the old paint and cleaning they now have a Purple scheme (I was thinking Pre-Bolshevik Russia instead of the 50’s Soviet scheme I’ve seen in GW books.)

I currently have about 3000 points painted. I’ve had them for over 2 years and use them occasionally. I currently use a magic heavy list, it’s fun to see peoples reactions to Dwarfs with Magic. :cheers

Kera foehunter:

welcome to the site bilbo wow 3000 and painted that great !!

well i’am glade you join us here ! Its great when we steal a bugman dwarf

did you bring some of that fine bugman brew with you ???

Unfortunately I don't have any of the brew with me, he wouldn't let me leave with any. Had a few pints at the bar before coming here. :hat off

My 3000 point list has a Sorcerer Lord on Lammasu (Named Fluffy). The first time I used the army was in a 2000 point tournament at GW in Philadelphia. I had named all the charaters and my general was Vladimir Tihvinsky riding Fluffy. One of my friends came up when I was rolling for Fluffy and started cracking up. He then went over to my wife who was painting her Lizards and told her I named the Lammasu Fluffy (she didn't know) and she laughed because she knew I got the name from Harry Potter. I don't use Fluffy in games under 3000 anymore because I don't like monsters in normal games.

IndyGamer:

Hello everyone! I just joined the forum and wanted to introduce myself. :hat off

I played Warhammer for a brief period in the 1990s. I was a Blood Bowl player at heart but WH caught my eye. Life got in the way and the hobby took a back seat just as I was given a CD army as an x-mas present. I am just now getting back into the hobby. I didn’t think dusting off my Chaos Dwarfs was an option for this new edition so I started painting an Orc & Goblin army. Once I found this site I was completely amazed. The creativity and dedication shown to the little fellas with the goofy hats is something to behold! Once I get back into the groove with the hobby and get a decent start on my O&G, I’ll get my CDs started back up. I was going to trade my BFSP Dwarfs for more gobbos, but I think I’ll hold onto them now!

well Indygamer, welcome! we’ve recently been doing a push towards BloodBowl, so snoop on the forums to find our threads, and also read the 3 Word of Hashut’s (WOH) that have been released, our webzine. I think it was in #2 that we did a chunk of articles on BloodBowl.

If you need any other direction, let us know!

and out of curiousity; what did you get for Xmas? which models?

Xerxes:

Hello people!

I’m finnish boy named “Aleksi” and I have been playing warhammer for about 5 years. I have played many other miniature games too, for an example: Confrontation, Warmachine and Helldorado. Now I’m starting a Chaos Dwarf army. I have Ork army for 40k, Wood elf army for FB and Gondor-army for LOTR. And remember, I’m finnish and I can’t speak english very well, but please try to understand me. I’m going to start my chaos dwarf army by buying Battle for skull pass -set and converting them to chaos dwarfs. I’m quite lazy painter, so I’ll have some work to do with it. If anyone of you have any good tips to convert them easily, tell me please. And yes, I have watched Xander’s videos in youtube, and those videos gave me the inspiration to become a mighty leader of chaos dwarves.

Kera foehunter:

I did look at the CD Blood Bowl teams on the site. They are very nice.

When 4th edition was still the new version, GW offered boxed army deals. This was a great offering for those non gamers to buy as presents. It was before the internet wish lists and such you have now. Anyway, I got this box set along with figures I added. I did not do a complete inventory but I have about 30 plastic CD figures and metal command groups to go with them. I also have a unit each of Bull Centaurs, hobgoblin wolf riders, sneaky gits and hobgoblin archers. I also have 20 blunderbuss CDs, 2 earthshakers, 1 death rocket and 2 hobgoblin bolt throwers. I have a lord and wizard figure as well as Astrogoth. I also have the Lammasu and Great Taurus. That should be enough painting to keep me busy for awhile. :hashut

Welcome Xerxes! don’t worry about your English, you’re doing quite well already! I’m glad you found us over here at CDO, as you seem eager to start your CDs given you’ve already watched Xandor’s tutorials and know you want to convert from BFSP

Hope you enjoy your stay here!
