[Archive] Introductions: New members post here!

Helsreth:

Hey, have not touched my Warhammer in some time, I think the last time was around when Black Templars were released.

Armies I collect, Black Templars, Dark Eldar, Tyranids, Hordes of Chaos (which needs redoing because of the new lists).

I am currently in the process of rebuilding my Hordes of chaos forces (each in their own armies) and will be starting a Chaos Dwarf army once this is done.

Sojourn:

wow Helsreth, that’s a lot of work you’ve got planned! and I can’t believe you’re going to wait to start your CDs  j/k

do you know what colour scheme yet? will you make it align with your other hordes colouring? Do you play often? where are you from? maybe there are some other members near you.

Welcome!

I have to wait seeing as I go back to work on Monday, and many nights/ weekends I rehearse.

Colour Scheme will most likely be black, with red highlights/trimmings, which will change if the unit has a mark of chaos. I have not played in years, not since the old gaming club I went to was stopped because some unknown kid kept swiping stuff.

I am from Brisbane, there's most likely members near me.

Kera foehunter:

welcome to the site Helsereth !!! well glade you found your way back to warhammer

Hey when you get a chance , Could you post some of your army’s

willy0505:

I stumbled upon this site while doing some research on Dwarf Slayers online for a PBEM WHQ group. I thought I’d introduce myself and compliment you all on what you’ve done here.

I played Warhammer starting with the 3rd and 4th edition. I haven’t played for several years now, however the hobby has always been in my mind. I’ll frequently pick up a White Dwarf or read around online about what’s going on. My primary army back then was a 6000 pt Chaos Dwarf army. I had all the Chaos Dwarves they were making back then, particularly the Bull Centaurs. I unfortunately sold all of my stuff in 2004 when I moved from San Antonio to LA.

I’m not very clear on the new rules, but I know there are unit restrictions, where as they weren’t clearly enforced in my day. I remember going very heavy on Bull Centaurs, which in my opinion were the strongest units.

I’m about half way through Podcast #2 and have really enjoyed listening to them. It’s great to hear about people playing Chaos Dwarves and general Warhammer discussions. The website you have put together here is really nice too. I love seeing all of the old models still thriving, and there are some really talented sculptors/painters showing their stuff.

I’ll be visiting back frequently, although I don’t know how much I have to contribute except for historical insight!

Cheers,

Will

Excellent! Welcome to the site Willy, and one of the best experiences on the web in terms of forum. If there is anything you need help with just ask one of the staff: http://www.chaos-dwarfs.com/forum/showteam.php

Sojourn:

well Willy, you contribute historical insight, maybe some rules, I contribute in the Off-Topic. It’s a great forum, and you’ll find somewhere to discuss something. So just dive on in!

Also, if you have a lot of knowledge about CDs (which it sounds like you do) may I suggest helping out with the Wiki? If you help enough, there might even be a medal in it for you  (not that I decide who receives medals, but if you contribute to the site, you’re often rewarded with medals for achievements)

And take a look at the webzine! Everyone keeps saying how great it is.

Welcome!

Hello, my name is Henroth, one great fan of Chaos Dwarfs from Spain.

Bueno… mi ingles no es muy bueno, pero ya iré aprendiendo.

Aman:

Greetings Fellow Evil Stunties! :hat off

I am Aman, and I’ve been playing CDs for several years. I had pals that used to play pretty regularly, but then that died off and I also dropped Fantasy and even GW for a bit. The new edition of 40K has kind of brought me back into the GW side of the hobby, and sorting thru my CDs to move some along got my painting/sculpting energy back for them. IT’S INFECTIOUS!

I’m a fan of the big hats (Hashut bless you Alan Perry) and the army’s general style/theme. I think the dwarfs need an evil opposite. Contrary to popular attitude, the big hats look just fine when you paint them up with a natural paint scheme, the 5th ed. “Primary Kolors of Kindergarten” really made them, and all those armies, look silly. My army has been themed on Fire colors. I’ve already been posting around and found valuable news and info.

Cheers,

Aman

EuphoricMelody:

Hey, i’m Marcel.

I’m 16,living in germany, and am about to start an Open Univeristy course in Music (a few English members may know what that is). I started playing Warhammer about 5 years ago (playing Skaven), but stopped 3 years ago until just recently as i had no one else to play against, but Warhammer has haunted me ever since and now i’m back playing again, haha. Anyway i’ve always wanted to collect Chaos Dwarfs, but back when i satrd out i didn’t have the money to buy all those metal minitures, and was pretty shocked to find out that they’re not even in production anymore. Anyway i’m g;ad that there’s such a big fanbase, and i hope when Chaos Dwarfs get rereleased it will be possible to convert them into Big Hat Dwarfs:P.

My current Arnmies are:

2000Pts Skaven

800Pts Chaos Dwarfs (need 11 more Chaos Dwarf Warriors and a Death Rocket to make 1000 pts)

Thanks for reading!

Willmark:

Welcome guys and enjoy your time on the site!

Godbob and his jolly rogers:

Haunted by Warhammer what a Ghost story 'and then the modals them selves rose and shouted at me “you haven’t played in ages, repent!” :stuck_out_tongue:

Welcome all

I did an open univeristy course as well, but mine was in Astronomy and i got it for free. Im thinking of doing another one in creative writing. I hope you enjoy your course, and have enough time to get 1000 points of CD's and pass your course at the same time.

Lavindil:

Hey,

The names Lavindil. I’m 21 and living in Portland Oregon and I’ve been playing Warhammer for about 8 years now. i started with Orcs and goblins, then Bretonnia, hordes of chaos, Dwarfs, and Dogs of war. I thought about building a chaos dwarf army a few years back but i was so disappointed that GW had stopped giving it any attention. when i saw this online community however it got me thinking that maybe thanks to all of you I might have some people to get ideas from and talk about the fluff. I’m starting a chaos dwarfs army here in a little bit and have begun converting a sorcerer ( I loved the one Snotling made out of the crappy slayer from the BFSP box :)) and as soon as I’ve got the cash on hand I’ll be buying some new models and green stuff to try a lost and forgotten army.

@ auretious, too bad they spelt ‘opportunity’ incorrectly.

Welcome to all the others! sorry I wasn’t here sooner for a more personalized welcome, but I’m sure you will all find that everyone here is a little disappointed at the lack of GW support for the CD army. that being said, we do our best to get CDs out there among the represented armies, and based on our ever growing community, I’d say we’re doing a good job.

if you have any questions, ask away! we’re all willing to help.

enjoy your stay!

CaseusVincoDuos:

Hey Guys,

I’ve posted a couple of things on the forum but I though that it would be a good idea to swing by here and post an introduction of sorts, so here it is.

I live in Sydney, Australia I am 16 and have been collecting for eight years now, I started with warhammer quest and the hobby grew from there - many armies later and about 5 years on I left the hobby for a short while and got back into it 3 years ago. I started 40k tyranids and then moved to Dwarves, Imperial Fists and finally Vampire Counts. I recently attended the Dogcon teams event with my vampires and started to see why people attend tournies :cheers. I am heading to Clash of the Titans in feb but I am already thinking of my new tournament army and I decided on the Stunties from the north. (and Great Taurusssss…:hashut)

So anyway there it is. If anyone has any background information I would appreciate being sent in the right direction ans I know little to nothing about Chaos Dwarves.

Cheers, :cheers

CaseusVincoDuos

Swissdictator:

Welcone Caseus!

The wiki is a great place for information on the background, so I’d start there. The first tidbit I will share is that are not actually from the North, we’re from the geographic equivalent of Babylon/Persia. Though I guess we get up to the North, trading with the Hordes

I played VC for years and they were my main, but I happily gave them up for my CD to be my main! Welcome to the site! I hope you find this place was fun and useful as I do.
