I am wanting to build one of these, if any one knows of appropriate model trains or steam engines I would be appreciative. I’ve searched the forum already, maybe missed something, but hopefully the wonderful community can help me out.
Wanting to have a general shape of the model produced by fw. A train. About the appropriate size as well. If you know anything let me know.

Try looking for some toy trucks - like a gas truck. I’ve been searching for an appropriate train model for some time without luck. If the trains are for 28mm models they get way too big.
I had succes (or will have at least) with a gas truck / monster truck hybrid. I’ll be using the model in “reverse”. So the gastank is the boiler of the train and i ripped of the cabin, so there I’ll put a platform for the crew. This thing will be converted/improved a lot, but I think it’ll work.
Go to flea markets - you can get so many toys that can make a base for the model.
I was actually giving up hope and had started looking a tractor toys. Taking inspiration from the toxic tractor of command and conquer generals.

There seem to be a lot of appropriate models that I’ve searched via Amazon but they costs more than a fw model.
