Having now bought a juggernaut I hope to have a go at this myself. What I plan to do is something similar to the link, but with overlapping metal plates as the wing ‘membrane’ (made from plasticard).
An interesting thing to consider is how big they should be? To lift a mechanical beast you’d need big wings realistically.

Well, something metal with mechanical wings could never actually take off by flapping so I wouldn’t worry too much about realism. 
I would say the wingspan would be something like 2.5 - 3 times the creature’s length, but you may want to adjust this for practicality. The LOTR Felbeast wings are a good indication of something that is in some sort of fantasy-realism scale (they are BIG).
