Truth be told, I’ve not even drawn sketches yet. Rarely do. For my part, I’d like to wait for us to see Jackswift’s sketches before I draw new ships or even modify some of his blueprints. That said, uploading clear sketches is a good idea, and the sooner, the better. Especially since we can gain ideas and design elements from each other, and I’m particularly curious for your sketches, Grim.
As for division of work, I’m confident we’d be able to amass a varied and quite complete range even without coordination (though it’s certainly better to have it than to be without it). In the end, each sculptor should follow his vision for the favourite ship types he’d like to pursue, and I could probably take on any missing/leftover slots in the range once everyone else has decided upon their niches. Given your highly inventive ship concepts, I currently plan to fulfill such a “reserve” role once escorts are completed and I can see what others’ projects are under way.
Nevertheless, there are a few must-have slots like escorts and submersibles. I can handle all the small escorts if no one else is interested. The five escorts on my desk may be enough since the main interest will lie in the larger vessels. Red Skullz over in Norway has signed up to sculpt a submersible (not the Hammer of Hashut semi-submersible variant) once he has the time to spare, and Fuggit Khan will likely treat us with some kind of surprise later on if I’m any guess.
Should we compile a work-list here/in the log, where everyone can check what the volunteer sculptors will work on/is working on at the moment/has finished? It could prevent redundancy in the range in case people independently come up with very similar ideas which they want to realize, such as hammer ships.
