So I came across this, it’s a new Khorne daemon, but unfortunately it looks like it’s been reworked from the previous official K’daii Destroyer we’ve seen.

Do you think this means we wont be getting a K’daii or that we will and that it will just look different?

We probably won’t see an actual, named K’daai Destroyer, at least for many years. It was part of WHFB, and at the moment it’s Age of Sigmar all the way. It’s possible that we’ll see some equivalent of the Destroyer in AoS, though.
I don’t see why the intended K’daai Destroyer was so ill received. Sure, it’s not a fire Daemon which it should be, but it’s still a very appropriate shackled slave Daemon of the Chaos Dwarfs, complete with weird weapons and armour as you would expect it to have. Not the K’daai Destroyer described in rules and fluff in LoA, but still a really nice catch for the CDs as a Daemonforged monster. The poor reception of its WIP pictures may very well have resulted in us losing this model to Khorne. Words have consequences. Ah well, let’s convert it back to Hashut.

I don’t see why we shouldn’t/couldn’t get a K’daii Destroyer FOR AoS, after all this beastie is apparently being designed for AoS so we know FW has some interest in the setting, I know it’s just wish listing at the moment come some kind tamurkan style book for AoS could be on the horizon and if so I’m sure FW would work the Chaos Dwarfs in considering the range is popular enough.
Honestly I wasn’t a fan of the WIP, yeah it wasn’t a molten bull or giant beetle thing but it looked like the designers themselves didn’t really know what to do with it.

If the designers would like a word of advice for what to have done with it, I would of suggested they throw it in the trash.

It looks like they have given it a proper set of legs and removed some of the weirder elements, like the chin-piece.

Not sure if it It really bares any resemblence to the old K’daai model, I’m sceptical of that website, this is like something you would read on BOLS or some other sensationalist website, that Lady Atia blog just re-gurgitates rumours its heard without any real founding or investigation into their source. Just because its warhammer fantasy and has a demonic face, can’t see any other resemblences apart from the metal horns and large plate armour. This is a Khorne Daemonprince or Bloodthirster or something. Could make a neat counts as model though for sure. Once you file off that Khorne glyph on the forehead. Maybe once we see more of it in photos we wil know if its a bull type model on 4 legs or on 2 legs, looks like its standing on two legs atm

Granted, somewhat off-topic, but Khorne Dwarfs could actually turn out well and act as a good basis for berzerkers or possessed/mutant/pantheist Chaos Dwarfs in WHFB. Such minis could conceivably even share a few looks with the Hellcannon crew. I wouldn’t mind such an odd turn of events in AoS, now that it seems to be Khorne all the way anyway.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they were, and Khorne has always been closest to the Dawi Zharr of all the Chaos gods if you zoom out. Fire, battle, forging, death, metal. Heavy stuff. There’s always been some common ground there, especially in the background if you look past the 4th edition aesthetic. A hobbyist friend of mine, to whom I converted a CD with a couple of elf arrows shot through his mask slits, assumed the Chaos Dwarf to be a raving mad Khorne follower.
So to see some, or all, Chaos Dwarfs in AoS make a kind of return as Khorne followers wouldn’t be much out of character, particularly since it’s a new setting. And Khorne monstrosities like the one in this thread are likely to show up as conversion material for K’daai Destroyers.

Yes, Khorne was the god of technology and CDs ran all of the Chaos war machines. CDs weren’t purely followers of Khorne though.

I have a heap of china forge infernal guard laid around, when I’m back in england was going to experiment with making a divided /aligned chaos dwarf army, so a regiment of nurgle , a regiment of slaanesh etc , havent worked out how to do the war machines though probably just neutral, my other idea was to make a Nurgle aligned LoA as allies for Tamurkhan with some Nurgle aesthetics starting to creep in.
I’m starting an AoS army too with china forge, its going to be neutral/undivided though
