Loki:

Great work on the casting , you can see a fair amount of detail, hope the next one comes out even better

Blackheart:

Looks good! What kind of resin did you use? Iā€™m trying to cast a few minis myself but im having a hard time finding a good casting resin.

Kered:

Just to clear some things up, the main thing that went wrong were that the release tubes on the feet didnā€™t work properly because they were only connected to the toes but I fixed it by cutting it out to cover more of the foot and neither did the ones from the arms to thee feet but that was easily sorted by cutting the grove deeper.

@Blackheart; The resin I use was Resin opaque white Smooth-cast 300

Kered:

Sorry for the lack of update but heres one now.

Fist and foremost thank for all the nice comments and advice.

I did two more cast which apart from a few small bubbles(and one big one on the toe) came out almost perfectly.

But all is not well in the land of dwarf casting disaster has struck.

Unfortunately the shields are too large for them to rank up properly. I did try several different things to make them rank up such as trimming the shoulder pad but to no avail. The only option is to make new shields which turned out to probably be for the best, as for casting I will cast it at the same time as the blunderbuss.

I decided that a shield offers best protection if carried in front but I made sure there was a gap to see his lovely ā€˜one size fits every bodyā€™ mask.

The main thing Iā€™v been working on recently is the blunderbuss. At fist I sculpted one which was similar to the classic ones but I found that dull so I came up with this. Here is a better photo of the blunderbuss cared by my trusty green dwarf.

For the dwarf I added a chain with a vile of powder charges.

Here are the hobgoblin bolt throwers made from old pieces of sprue before the time I had plasti card. This one came out best I think.

The crew are made from flagellant bodies with night goblin heads which I am rather pleased with.
The bolt throwers them selves were mainly me using the handy tutorial from WOH and each time trying to improve as you can hopefully see from the fist one and the last:

I also have made a death rocket from part of a doom anvil and a ork rocket

I plan to get the Quantum Gothic missile launcher because it is a very nice modelĀ Ā
so this one might get over shadow a bit.

Out of spare parts I decided it make a piece of terrain/objective.

Itā€™s a WIP which will be a blood fountain/shrine of Hashut, I will make a bigger base maybe a small hill with a pool for the fountain to pour into.

C&C are much appreciated.

Blackheart:

Your casts look awesome Kered! Canā€™t wait to see them painted. What kind of colour theme are you going use for your CDĀ“s? I like the muzzle of your blunderbussman, it kind of reminds me of the giant battering ram ā€œGrondā€ from Lord of the rings: The Return of the King. Your warmachines and the shrine of Hashut also looks awesome! What material are you going to use for the pouring blood?

Keep bringing the good stuff!

Kered:

My army is starting to come together finally.

I found a pice of terrain Iā€™v had lying around for a wile gathering dust.

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4138/4772576680_8775df386a_b.jpg
It is just held together by plasticine for now, I will strip of the static grass and addĀ Ā gravel and ash to match the rest of the army(when itā€™s painted).

for the blood I wish to do it in the style of this hellcannon: http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2009/12/wfb-hobby-hellish-hellcannon.html

For my colour scheme you can see it on the sorcerer I want my army to have a dark and menacing feel, I might add some effects like blooded foot prints on the bases.

Here are my two molds for the warriors and blunderbusses. There were a few larger bubbles in the second moldĀ Ā which I tried to fix it with green stuff but the filling came out in the first cast.

I have been busy casting and have now got a unit of ten sturdy dwarfs with full command.

I have also made the same number of blunderbusses with a musician so that in 8th edition they can move, pivot, reform and still shoot(I think). There are a fair number of bubbles which I shall have to go over with green stuff.Ā Ā

Out of some spare part I have made a unit filler for the blunderbusses it might also be used as a inferno golem if I ever use the indy list (right now Iā€™m using the RH list)

I use the sorcerer in the blunderbuss unit to make it 5x3 making them strength 5

Da Crusha:

wow nice castings! its not going to long before you have an entire army of them. good job!

Rhazzouth:

Very nice, the warriors are wich means heavy infantry, lots of spears and shields ready to fight in a perfect front line, I love them(i would say pretty static?).Very nice and good work.

Shakhorth:

Love the feeling of your army. Nice heavy blocks of infantry. Perhaps bring some more variation in the casts youā€™ve made. Intresting way to make your hobgoblins out of flagellants, it worked out very nice. And nice job on your bolt throwers.

Iā€™m sure once this army is painted it up it will look even better.

Canā€™t wait to see more of your work.

tjub:

Good work with the castings, they look really good!

Kered:

Hello all.

It been a wile since my last update so here a small one to start off again.

two demonic earthshakers make from glue sticks, green stuff and spare parts.I also experimented with green stuff chains.

Enjoy.

Fequiil:

nice stuff going around here!

thereā€™s just one thingā€¦ paint!

Hazkar:

wow some pretty cool stuff

Nicodemus:

Looking totally awesome!!

Itā€™s hard to make out all of the detail from the white plastics on your castsā€¦ do you have any painted up so that we can see a little better?

Keep up the great work.

Kered:

sorry for the lack of painted dwarves, Iā€™v been busy with other projects recently.Mainly some more scratch sculpts and my entry for golden hat.

I wanted to move away from the previous incredibly static design. Iā€™m now trying to make several dwarves with different poses. First Iā€™m making four wielding great weapons, Iā€™m not sure wether I will make alternate hand weapon and shield arms.

Heres first great weapon, sadly I donā€™t have any WIP shots.

Iā€™v made it so he only need to be cast in two pieces, there is also a key were the shoulder attaches to the body to make sure the wrists match up properly.

Ā Ā

The second has his axe poised to strike although Iā€™m still not sure if I will be able to make them rank up properly. The sculpt is almost complete only his shoulder pad and thumbs to go.

I hope you like them be sure to tell me what you think.

Abecedar:

Awesome work. Its gunna be a brilliant unique army. Iā€™ll have too take my hat off to you, as you are one of those with a great imagination and the drive to build what you see.

nitroglysarine:

Sorry to say, but does he look a bit skinny?

Or is that the idea?

Kered:

I see what you mean. I found the first one that I cast was very blocky once I added the shoulder pad I tried not to repeat that with these two, But if the problems persist I may bulk them up a bit.

@Abecedar
Thank you, I hope you are right.

Kered:

I have done some more sculpting on the warriors along side my GH entry.

I bulked up their beards to ones that any dwarf could be proud of.

Iā€™v started two more sculpts. I might make a fifth to make a full rank.

And and spare green stuff I decided to make this.

I hope you like them, be sure to tell me what you think of the progress.
