Hey All,
Just recently picked up a Finecast Lamassu. I’ve assembled it and am ready to start painting. I’m not sure what colours to use. Any suggestions?
Not too fond of the typical red/black or blue schemes.

Well, considering Lamassu are descended from mutated Chaos Dwarfs, maybe try a bare flesh scheme with the beard and mane painted to match the beard of the rider? Alternatively have just the face be flesh and the body the same colour as the beard to represent fur.

I would like to try and achieve a more "natural" look to it, but I wasn't sure how to pull it off. Your suggestion regarding the face and hair/fur sounds spot on. :cheers

I’m thinking of a dark coloured body for mine. I’ve always liked them when I’ve seen them pinted that way in the showcases.

Being magical creatures Lammasus look pretty good painted blue! Although I’d personally go dark blue with white hairs & beard.

I’ll paint my lamassu with black / dark grey skin and give it purple wings.

Yellow lammasu perhaps? I’m pondering white and grey with blue beard and red claws

Hey All,
Thanks for the suggestions guys:cheers I think I know what to do now. I’ll go with a yellow colour and natural flesh colour for the face. This should tie in well with my army.
I’ve been busy recently. I’ve finished 20 Hobgoblin archers, and 11 Big Hats, along with a musician, BSB, champion, and leader. Just some final touches and hopefully I can post some pics. I hope I can get my army ready for play in the next month or so, but we’ll see…

When I get round to making one I’ll probably paint it different shades of purple, something different from the dark grittiness of the war machines and infantry.

Because it is a magic mutated cow I will suggest for 2 contrastant colors, not complementars but something like brownish body and blue beard, or like mine space wolf gray body with orange beard.
