In storm of Magic Wizards can mount the magical buildings called Arcane fulcrums. A single model can stand atop it.
If a Mount and a Rider is a wizard (Like our prophets and our Lammasus) how do you play this? Do both get the advantages? Do one get advantages and if so which one? If the Arcane Fulcrum Miscast Rargh becomes active on a spell cast by the Lammasu what happens to the Prophet?
I would asume both get the advantages, but if it is only one then it would probably be the rider.
With the miscast, it would affect the Lammasu and if it also affects models in base contact or a template centred on the caster then the prophet would also be hit.
I’m just making asumptions here though, I don’t have the book handy. I would be interested to know if you find out though.
Although I don’t have my SoM book to-hand at the moment, my assumption is that this would be one of those instances that weren’t anticipated when the fulcrum rules were drawn up. That being said, the Lammasu is a mount and a wizard, so when your spell-casting Sorcerer-Prophet stands atop the fulcrum to channel its powers, the Lammasu is right there with him and exposed to the same environment - so my guess is that they both get the full benefit!
As they share a profile, they’re really still just one model, which I think is a specific limitation of occupying the fulcrum anyway, so they can be there for sure… but sure, I’d guess they both get the ward save and access to the SoM spells, etc. We’ve played with SoM q fair bit and I think most of the miscasts that do damage are in the main miscast table anyway and are usually all templates, so both would have to take the hit(s)… the SoM table has mostly weird gameplay-altering effects… but you’d need to go through one by one to identify if any specific ones were going to be an issue with a Lammasu & rider.
Just googling the Raargh entry, it specifically says that if the rider triggers the miscast, once he gets transformed his mount is destroyed and removed from the game!! Yikes. I guess if it’s the Lammasu that triggers the miscast then the rider is fine He’ll just be atop a suped-up Lammasu!
Thank you. The rider thing I completely missed… Cool. The Full Benefits for Both I agree on but a friend (Plays Dwarves. Obviously jealous) was confused.
