[Archive] Legion 2500 tournament ETC line of sight rules

Hello fellow dawi zharr, I have been inactive (painting my army, 5000/6000 points painted at the moment) but active in tournaments. I am going to share my list here and I would enjoy tactics, suggestions and comments on it. I try to avoid classic gun line armies because it gets boring and, tbh, the best part in whfb is screwing your opponent with good positioning

My army is for 2500 pts tournaments, no comp and ETC los (hills/impassable terrain block LOS completely)

My tactic is based around my anvil of ig, chalicing an ash storm into play to either buff my kdaai in combat (ogres or multiwound enemies) or lock those huge 18 bull ogres with hero deathstars out of the game while I flame the other parts of their army
Of course, ash storm to mess the enemy level 4 wkzard is fun too
The kdaai plays in the middle and tries to get close and personal to whatever I need dead
The taurruk and bulls exist to hunt chariot cannons alone. 2+ ward vs flaming is great against the khorne cannon. Otherwise, chaff hunting and flanking duty.
The gleaming pendant is there for when people challenge my bsb to snipw him, I reject and he goes to the last rank. The unit still benefits from ld9 + reroll and his stubborn rule
The archers murder chaff and dogs and whatever needed (manglers, snotlings…) and have 5+/6++ in cc with usually 3 ranks and ws3 to tarpit small things

All in all I enjoy it. What do you think?

3 magma cannons is totally overkill especially against ogres. Once the unit takes 2 hits its usually diminished so greatly that its a waste of a shot 3 magma cannons might actually hurt you if you are facing alot of high toughness targets.

You need hellbound on something or a hellcannon for etheral spam+terror geist spam. Your khans need some sort of magic weapon to help keep your K’daaii from getting held up by said etherals.

Hobgoblins dont need shields to hold up monsters/small units.

Your bulls need the gleaming pendant more than your infernal guard, and your bsb needs some sort of defense especially if you are not gunlining because 2 iron guts/chaos warriors/anything that can do damage WILL demolish him in 1 CC phase and you are screwed.

You might have to run your bulls and Tauruk with your K’daaii to get it to where it needs to be, they are to easy to lead around unsupported.

I have playtested something very similar. I had an extra Khan, no shields on the gobbos, 1 less magma cannon and some more bull centaurs.

Yeah, ethereal will murder me hard. Terrorgheists are very rare around the area, so I didn't plan for them, and only 2 VC players. How would you fix this list to face ethereal?

The 3 magma cannons are placed pretty far apart and usually blast different units, so it's not overkill and it makes the enemy think twice of where he is going to advance

Etherals, though threatening should be easily dispatched by a khan with a decent save and a 5pt magic weapon. Additionally any hell bound warmachine should do you just need to free up the points for it somewhere. I would not go for a lvl1 fireball or ruby ring just because of how unreliable it would be.

Perhaps drop the shields from the hobs that should net you a hellbound upgrade, or switch a magma cannon for a rocket and make that hellbound.

After some testing, I have fixed the issues you said. This is the list so far. I think the problems have been fixed (ethereals) with 1 Khan with 3+/6++ and magic weapon and a hellbound magma cannon:
