[Archive] Legion of Ravenswood [23.XI.2018 - 13th zwerg]

Doombeard:

The NMM on the silver on that one works really nicely

TheHoodedMan:

Holy moly! great guy. The belt is a great contrast color on this one.

Ravenswood:

Thanx folks! You motivate me to paint them again and again, even if no more chaos dwarfs in Age of Sigmar.

@Grimstonefire, unfortunately no wolf riders soon in my army. I want to do full unit of sneaky gits first.

Axtklinge:

What a great paint job, congrats!

Love the palette chosen. Oh, and the metalic effects on the blades look fantastic.

Cheers,

A.

Ravenswood:

12th zwerg for my regiment and only second it this year. Regardless that I now a full time painter, I have very little time to paint for myself. From the other side now I have big practice of painting and my skill grow faster.

Admiral:

You mean your painting skill wasn’t already towering up to the roof beams?

Gorgeous as usual!

Abecedar:

What Admiral said.

But you gotta find some time for yourself

Ravenswood:

Admiral
I want so many things to learn.
But you gotta find some time for yourself

Abecedar
I very hope so.

Thanx guys!

Grimstonefire:

How do you decide where to paint the reflection points on a new model you’ve not painted before?

Jackswift:

Awesome.  Your scratched NMM metallics look amazing.

Fuggit Khan:

Every time that I think your painting skills could not possibly be any nearer to godhood, you prove me wrong. Stunning paint work Ravenswood! You truly are one of the best painters in the world…the way you painted the metal tones on that ax is incredibly realistic :o

Hashut truly has bestowed upon you his favor :cheers

Ravenswood:

Grimstonefire
The mini (especially FW Infernal Guard) forms from basic primitives:  ball, cylinder, cone etc. Light and reflexes are standard for this basic primitives just depends of their angle and angle of light.

I highly recomend book of Jeremie Bonamant Teboul "Figopedia 1 ?" Colour and light ?" Theory and practice"
Jeremie is one of the best miniature painters in the world. The book contains many illustrations about how paint right and wrong :-)

Jackswift, Fuggit Khan thanx)

Abecedar:

I thought great, “primitives”, I should be able to handle this.

And then the word “Theory” de-railed me.

Ravenswood:

So here is it

Wonderfully beautiful!

I still admire your emissary that you sent to me, sitting on the top shelf of my display cabinet (alongside the other emissaries that people kindly sent to me)

It’s amazing work as always from you :hat off
