LOTD have got to be the easiest conversions imaginable.

1. gather collection of skulls

2. learn to paint flames

3. cut and glue skulls to backpack, bolters, kneepads, shoulderpads, etc…

4. give sergeant the skull helmet from the Chaos Warriors box champion (or cut the khornate “horns” from a berzerker skull helm)

I’ve got one squad of 3rd/4th edition models mixed with some 2nd that I have modified. If anything I’d start all over again if I was to do a new force.
