[Archive] Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck Tribute

Found on Youtube. Set to the tunes of Selfish Man by Flogging Molly. Check it out if you’ve read and liked Don Rosa’s intricately detailed comics about the feathered miser. If you haven’t, check out the comics as well. I’ll recommend them any day as one of the best stories I’ve come across in my life, be it old myths and legends, newer literature, movies or games.

Fuggit Khan:

I’ve always had a fondness for Scrooge McDuck :cheers

The Carl Barks (creator of Scrooge McDuck) stories are timeless, great themes of adventure and mystery, and well illustrated as well. Don Rosa is equally talented, but the Barks stories are some of my favorites :hat off

Agreed to the letter! Scrooge is a great character, and Carl Barks was a true master of his craft. Don Rosa picking up Bark’s threads was worth gold, and his ways of expanding upon Bark’s material is a valuable lesson in how to handle prequels and sequels. :cheers

The brilliance of Barks can be gleaned from him inventing pingpong ball shipwreck salvaging in his comic The Sunken Yacht. When a Dane came up with the same invention and succesfully raised a sunken ship 25 years later, he was denied a patent because the process had already been described in the comic.

So who here has the Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck soundtrack? The offical soundtrack to the movie that hasn’t been made from the book by Rosa.

Because if not, am gonna call noobz on ya.

Got an autographed book I bought one site once even though I had one at home too because I decided that they might throw me out if I just stand in line to shake his hand and say how much the stories meant to me.

I was the only one present over 30 who wasn’t bringing a kid along. I was getting abit worried some overzealous guard was gonna come and hassle me.

This noob haven’t. Please share.
