I was a year and three months.... *hides from Viskar's wraith*

Clthomps:

just out of curiosity what is your favorite model from that ad?

I think mine is Dunuin Dust-Thooth

Swissdictator:

Hairy Hengist Horse-Eater is pretty cool… both in terms of figure, and the name.

“Horse Eater” heh heh.

I was 9 months old!

My favourite would have to be Dunuin Dust-Tooth, he looks cool. Horse-eater hey? lol, meh, not so bad, though it makes you wonder just HOW he got the name. :)

I like them for the most part.

Auretious Taak.

Willmark:

Im partial to… all of them serious if I had the patience to collect all those old school minis my army would look almost identical to Clams. But since we Sith Lords are not known for our patience I went the direct route and started coverting mine.

Great find note the last have a slave.

Sojourn:

I was 1 month shy of being 2 years old! and hadn’t a clue about WH for another 20 years after that. lol

Badbreath Blackbeard. a) nice pirate reference b) the mace reminds me of my female CD I made.

Clthomps:

I wish I was around the brainstorming table when they came up with names for these guys!

Clthomps:

I wasn't even born, until 1.5 year later :P

Merchant:

Me like old Cd’ies

slev:

So in member age terms, it seems I’m middling.

Some of those old models are swesome, some less so…

Willmark:

I throw out the old reference: I was 13, I hadn’t starting playing warhammer yet thou. that wasn’t until 1988 for Roleplay then 1989 for WFB.

Scarsol Smashskull and Finehorn Deathscream might be my two favorite minis out of that lot.

Perturabo:

I’m not even certain my parents were married then. It’s great that the models were so individual back then.

Crazy names ftw!

Crazy names ftw!

Seriously "Spikes Harveywotan" ? What the hell is that. Awesome!

One thing that I do like about these old minis is their unique and individual nature. The 3rd edition models (not just the chaos dwarf ones) were the last ones that had that character. I woudl imagine some of this is simple economics. To create so many unique ones GW had to have so many more molds in order to make them.

Obsidian:

‘‘Stunty Sven’’ CLASSIC!!!

I have 'em all!

I know GW sold of some of their old molds to Ral Partha back in the days, just wish they would’ve sold the Chaos Dwarf ones as well so that we could still get them these days…

two_heads_talking:

I 1986, I was in my first of college and while I had heard of Games Workshop, and actually had a subscription to white dwarf, I wasn’t interested in the GW models yet. I bought the rag mainly for the RPG stuff it had…

However from that subscription, I became interested in Bloodbowl, which was my first GW introduction… I’ve been playing since.
