I am still getting the hang of Chaos Dwarfs and with this new 50% lord choice i want some ideas or help and such. I would love Lord kit and upgrades for 1000, 2000, 2500 and 3000. Any idea that you know work and are good, thank you guys. :hat off

Lord choices at 50%, is this for both Lords and Heroes or how does this work?
EDIT: My carpet sorc.prop. will get a lvl 4 and Blood of Hashut even at 1500p, that's what I'm gonna do :)

We only have the one lord choice. Really I don't see much of a change unless you are taking a second sorcerer prophet. If so I would go with lore of death and hashut or maybe metal and death. You are still limited by the same equipment points limitations so the kit you give them shouldn't change much. You can't suddenly give the SP 300 points worth of gear.
At anything less than 2000 you should either taking one sorcerer prophet or go with daemonsmiths.
A problem with our list is that we only hae one lord choice and he is too expensive. Spending 265+ points on a mage is too much. He’ll die too fast in combat and his misfire chance is too much.
I would much rather use the 50% heroes bit. That is a nice touch for our army. Suddently giving a chance to bring 2 daemonsmiths, 2 khans and a taur’ruk in games. I would much rather spam the enemy with two level 2’s instead of one lvl 4 mage. Just make sure to bring the chalice with you.
Bloodbeard has it right; more heroes is a bigger deal for us for the reasons he stated.
Though it could be interesting to bring a sorcerer prophet on a taurus of some sort at lower points games, teamed up with a K’daii. Fewer things at lower points values to murdelate him.
Just to clear out the rules (I have the book in my lap right now)
Max 50% lords Max 50% heroes Min. 25% core Max 50% special Max 25% rare
F*ck your daemonssmiths I’m gonna go ogrestyled bulls with 2-3 Tauruks (one in second rank with crown of command) and 6 bulls with full command and gleaming pennant. The Bahal will go in second rank as well with his 3 attacks preserved. It’s gonna be awesome.
Fun and nasty tactic with all the centaurs and taur'uks. That's gonna be a lot of attacks every round. But it'll be a very nice target for cannon balls. Do monstrous beasts grant "look out sir"?

Thanks! Removed the "u" so no one gets hurt. It's hard to adjust to the 'murican standards of swearing :D
And yeah Look Out sir will be granted as long as I have 5 Renders alive. And luckily I'm mostly playing WoC, Orcs, Brets, VC and DE, so no fiddelyfuddelidooddely canons in those armies ;)
It's a supplement. Like storm of magic. Man people are freaking out.
Twisted Dwarf
Is it only a supplement? I thought these where the new official rules?
MadHatter
As far as I'm aware it's just a supplement just like a Storm of Magic or Triumph and Treachery; it's optional additional rules rather than overriding/replacing the existing ones in the main rulebook permantly.

Isn't "f-ck" very much the American standard of swearing nowadays? It's been in the 'murican movies for decades at least.

There has been no announcement about it. So far this is a supplement. We'll have to wait and see if the rumours are true and the End Times supplements make Warhammer proper glide over into a new rules phase with allies and so on.
I just clarified the rules. Read my post above your last. It’s very clear
I consider the End Times a grand, long term, fluff driven, campaign supplement. If some official source claims otherwise, I will continue to believe that.
But I would allow anyone to use the Undead Legion in any game of warhammer, as I loved the old Undead army in 5th Edition.
So with these new limits is it worth it and at what level game would you go for it?
For example at 1000pts would you drop a Sorcerer Prophet with a mount in there or even filling up on 50% heroes? Would it hamstring the rest of the army with that big a point sink or would it be worth it?
I have a campaign coming up and I’d love to field my Bale Taurus as I love the model but rarely get the chance to but I’m concerned that I’d criple the rest of the army.
Our army’s strength does not ome from daemonsmiths or prophets. Magic can work wonders - but also steal away a lot of points fast.
The true strength of the LoA list is some insanely powerful warmachines (that work with a daemonsmith) and die hard infantry.
I think our lord choice i too expensive compared to his general performance. I rarely use him in anything less than 1750 (and even here he not always joining the army. 50% lord choices? No need for that.
50% heroes? Hell yes! Because of the above point, I’ve often found 25% heroes just too little. Because I want a daemonsmith or two, a bsb castellan and some khans. I can do that playing End Times. This is a nice feature for our army. I would end up on around 30-35%.
Even before a combined heroes/lords of up to 50% of your army is too many points in too few models. So goint 75% is insane - for our army at least. Bringing a gazillion demon princes might be another matter.
Why have GW chosen to make rules like this? Because they want to sell Nagash. Nagash had to be a crazy model and a 1000 points is fair for the greatest wizard of all time. Had he only cost 500 points, it would only put him above a tooled demonprince og prophet. But GW wouldn’t sell any Nagash minaitures if he could only be used in 4000 point games.
I never take more than one sorc prophet below 3000 pionts, but this allows us to always our khans, tauruk, bsb and daemonsmiths if we want to, which is often where I feel my points are getting pressed
