although if you ask me, the movies are so different that you can hardly count them as a series… although Road Warrior and Thunder dome are most closely related, Mad Max is just not even in the same genre…

also i’ve heard that the American versions were dubbed and the first time they were released in America with the ‘proper’ Australian voices was in the 25th anniversery dvd… is that true?

i don’t think so !! most of them had accents beside mel
the gyro guy and the mohawk guys talk with a acent in the road warriors
even tina turnner talk with a jamacian accent too!!

Captain Crayon is correct. Mel’s real voice wasn’t on any copy of Mad Max for a very long time. I’m not sure if it was the 25th anniversary edition though, but for many a year, the only way to see Max with his real ozzy accent was on TV. This is only Mad Max. Road Warrior and Thunderdome used Mel’s real voice, but at that time he’d been americanized so it didn’t sound like much of an accent.
re: Doomsday
Doomsday is a good romp. Think of it as a British Mad Max, for sure, but it has its own coolness. Worth a watch, IMO.

Mad Max is better than Thunderdome…Thunderdome would have been way better if they didn’t have all the kids…kinda like Star Wars and Jar Jar…

I saw them on TV not long ago (3 weekends in a row / 1 per saturday evening) but I can't for the life of me recall if I caught the first one of the "series".
