Mahtipakarat:

Hello everyone,

I haven’t been painting chaos dwarfs in a while, but I still plan on finishing my army someday. However I have loads of other projects going on at the moment (like adding finishing touches to my 2250pts tournament goblin army). So I plan to show you all other ‘non-chaos dwarfy’ miniatures I manage to finish here. I’ll start with a unit of Bloodletters of khorne I painted to my friend.

I might add a bit more highlights on edges of muscles and such, since on pictures they look flat.

C&C much appreciated.

AGPO:

Good to see someone else still working with the older bloodletters. Really nice work on the models themselves but I reckon the bases could do with a little touching up. The lines between your highleights are a little too clean cut so you’re getting more of a ‘rainbow’ look than a glowing one. Other than that though keep up the good work

Kera foehunter:

love the older blood letter ! did you hand make the top of the banner or is it part of a kit

Mahtipakarat

Joshmohr:

Really old blood letters- Look like beast’s of chaos, to some point. (Khorn Gor’s?)

Vash:

these look a lot better then the current plastic ones… nicely painted aswell.

Mahtipakarat:

Thank you all for replies.

@Kera foehunter: The banner top is apparently from then new plastic bloodletter kit, as I said these are my friends miniatures and I just painted them so all credit for clever conversions go to him.

@AGPO: I too noticed the ‘rainbow’ effect, I messed it up by having too dry paints (well you cant always be perfect :P).

Mahtipakarat:

Bumb and hello,

I have been painting quite a lot recently. My dark elves are coming up nicely. I have not finished anything, but a small force is WiP at the moment so expect to see some pictures soon :). This time I have 13 Horrors to show you, I painted these for my friends daemon army which is going to be really khorne themed (hence the red colour scheme). So without a further ado here is the picture.

I tried to keep them as simple as I could (my friend wanted it that way). And the banner is only a temporary one. The black on the edges of the bases is a bit thick but at least the rainbow effect is not so striking this time. I hope you like them :cheers.

edit: uh oh, I forgot to mention, some of them are missing an arm or two, but that is only because my mate bought them 2nd hand and the previous owner had lost them.

Mahtipakarat:

Hello and bumb again.

blaablaa yadda yadda yaaa. Here is a plague furnace that I painted for my friend.

IMO really nice since it only took me about 6-7 hours in putting it together and painting it fully. I hope you like it :cheers.

Pyro Stick:

I would really like to know how you painted the wood on the plague furnace.

Mahtipakarat:

Hello,

It’s scorched brown basecoat (well scorched brown mixed with vallejos charred brown)

drybrush with bestial brown (again bestial brown mixed with vallejos beasty brown)

then I highlighted those parts I messed up with too much bestial brown with bestial brown mixed with some lighter brown (I probably used snakebite leather or bubonic brown, honestly I can’t remember).

From other places I got comments that it’s a bit too clean looking for skavens. I have to agree with them, it could use a quick wash with watered down brown/chestnut ink or flesh wash.

I think it looks fine. Thats practically how i paint wood as well but yours looks completely different. The grain is much more visible and it looks great. I thought you were using some kind of wash/ink to get that effect.

Kera foehunter:

love the cape color on the skaven monks !! it a great painted figure

Loki:

Great work on every thing, i really like the old school bloodletters and the plague furnace looks ace

Mahtipakarat:

Raise from the grave!

This thread had almost reached oblivion (last post over a year ago :O.)

But I’m back to bring you a sneak peek of my marauders. only blutac’ed together I’m planning on making unit of 40 of these guys for my Hordes of chaos army, and currenly just cleaning the parts and fitting them together, Heads need to be greenstuffed on since they don’t fit otherwise. But expect to see more of these guys coming.

Cheers.

Ishkur Cinderhat:

If only there was something to look at, actually… guess you need to re-upload 'em.

Hmm.. somehow my dropbox link is not working... hmm.. my dropbox links are not working, like all of them are broken. Also forgot my photobucket password, but got a new one now.

anyways here is the picture.

(if there is a  multiple of the same pictures later, then it is because the dropbox started working again.)

Edit: I have to rethink about using photobucket or some other site for my pictures if dropbox starts to be unreliable :/.

Da Crusha:

Prettyt cool marauders. where are the heads from?

Mahtipakarat:

@Da Crusha: From Maxmini.eu found here. Nothing but good things to say from them so far, so go check them out.

I bought assorted pile of bitz and pieces from them a while ago and now building marauders and chosen from those. Chosen will have chaos warrior bodies, halberds from GW (metal ones and few from chaos knight lances) then black lotus tribe helmets (the spartan style ones), and maybe black lotus tribe shields (not too sure about this one).

I now have 35 of my khorne marauders built and I ran out of flail arms, so I’m going to go get some, Also I want way more those skull shoulder pads (I currently have 11gw ones and 2 from maxmini) So I have to either make or buy more of those. Working on these things now!

Also building 40 'hob’goblins they are supposed to fit both my goblin army and my chaos dwarf army (they will have furhats, marauder shields and plasticard swords) Like unmounted versions of my wolfriders.

Over and out!
