Ah, now there’s a model I like a lot! He looks great, and I hope more hobgoblins will be incoming! That guy is my favorite of the bunch so far, and he would fit perfectly with my standing ideas/conversions.
Also, it’s really cool to see a gaming company so willing to go out and actually listen to it’s customer base! Props to Mantic for actually listening to us.

I sincerely hope they make hobgoblin slaves or goblinoid troopers, kinda like ghouls. This way the KOW army list will have them and I’ll be able to use some mantic khaos dwarves with GW hobgoblins (gnoblars) in both games!

That's the single biggest thing holding me back really. But I'm thinking total headswap for these anyway. If only there was someone doing the heads I wanted. Well Forgeworld supposedly but yeah, not betting on that ever happening and besides not like they are going to make CD heads only.

Thats it. The chaos dwarf release, being before the orc release, suprised us, as we were speculating what types of orcs/gobbo's would be included when mantic burst forth with chaos dwarf news. I will post more info when it comes up.

By the way, that hero is pretty cool ! Not a big fan of the skull on the helmet though.

The beard length is an issue I think. This guy is the King right? Not necessarily saying he is the oldest khaos dwarf, but it would help him to stand out from the crowd if he had a longer beard. Same with all the character models actually.
Also I think bob needs to go over most of the surfaces with a scalpel to get sharper edges.

Mantic only have the ability to produce so many plastic kits a year. I imagine everything they make for the Khaos Dwarf range will be metal (possibly resin?) as they see how it sells.

Yeah, its likely its cheaper to make resin/metal for test batches to make smaller runs.

I get all the comments about the beards, but I don’t think they’re going to change. All of the ‘regular’ Mantic Dwarfs have shorter beards too. I get the impression that this is just a Mantic ‘style’ thing.
Also I agree with Grimstonefire, some of the details on the sculpt are a bit soft - they could stand to be sharpened for sure. So we’ll see how the finished product turns out.
