Thorne:

Games workshop could learn a lot from these guys

On another note mantics dwarf range went available for pre order, Now I understand that the Iron clad range is only at the momment up for pre order but even with the ironclad looking force here at the momment £50 for 100 dwarf models in the heaviest armour I have seen in a long time I would say that they are looking very good value and lovely sculpts for the none hat inclined. Good luck mantic I hope they fly out nice and quickly and into some mean looking armies here.

Darn 501 posts … Where did that all go ?

dwarf berserker

sorry for the small image

warh:

also this organ gun

Uzkul Werit:

Ain’t big on the Dwarfs but the Orcs would make okay Hobgoblins.

Thommy H:

These are pretty awful!

TheVoice:

There are orcs? I can only see elves, dwarfs and undead.

I think the dwarfs could be ok once the whole beard-swap and masking bit that makes them into CDs happens.

Baggronor:

These are pretty awful!
Sadly, I must agree. The feet are too small, their proportions just look too sensible. That gun reminds me of the really early Imperial Guard plastics too.
Something about the dwarf proportions that dosn't seems right (to me that is).
Dwarfs need to be exaggerated and look a little comical to look right imo. The fact that these ones have a bulky torso and then tight-fitting leg gear and compact feet makes them look like their legs belong on someone else. This is compounded by the wide head and shoulders. And triangular shields just don't work on really short people, Dwarfs need round or square shields; a triangular shield works against their squat silhouette. There's a reason why the Elves have triangular shields.

smaug123uk:

i have to say i like them - maybe we all to used to GW with there comical looks

at least these have legs and dont just have their feet sticking out their ass and at the price u cant complain nice n cheap to chop about

TheVoice:

What gun? What orcs? Seriously, I’m getting a little concerned other people can see more than me on the same site… :frowning:

Baggronor:

Admittedly I am no longer constrained by the need to buy other peoples' figures so am probably more picky than most. I'd still rather have a small number of good-looking figures than a lot of poor ones though.

Thommy H:

Yeah, just because something’s cheap doesn’t mean it has to suck. I can get a lot of crappy stuff for not much money, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to.

TheVoice:

The only sucky things I can see on those models are the face and cartoony beard: both things that vanish over the course of your average CD conversion.

Thommy H:

If you’re going to convert enough to make these models presentable, you might as well just sculpt them from scratch.

TheVoice:

Why? The armour is fine, it is nice to see dwarfs with actual working legs and I have no problems with the shields. Other than the face what do you hate so much about them?

Thommy H:

They look like they’re Playmobil.

Da Crusha:

What gun? What orcs? Seriously, I'm getting a little concerned other people can see more than me on the same site... :(

TheVoice
I dont understand it either. I have the same problem with some peoples blogs. people are always talking about pics I cant see. this time I CAN see these pics.

Ellimist:

The dwarfs just don’t look right to me, certainly not something I’d use.

Now their undead on the other hand are actually rather impressive, and at the prices they offer I’m extremely tempted to start a VC project.

nitroglysarine:

i was thinking. the three up ones would make a nice basis to convert for inferno golems. perhaps?

Thorne:

Minimal use of greenstuff the ironclads would make nice chaos dwarves warriors, Even nice blunderbuss troops too. Good to see something a bit different other than dwarves with no legs and knees. Must say the lessar armoured troops are not too hot but the others I like.

A few more pictures:

Sprue:

And this should be a finished figure.

Can’t see that helmet, though (think thats from a up coming command sprue).

Kinda like the idea of bodies without heads/torsos - might be very useful for some Chaos Dwarf conversions.

Anyone picking up these on their release? Looking forward seeing the first conversion. I - myself - is tempted to buy a box - just to see what could be done with these. Might be a nice summer holiday project

And if not for anything else - then just to get the little bull dog :stuck_out_tongue:
