I don’t think anyone was suggesting that it was. It’s been done plenty of times before. But a race of 28mm Evil Dwarf models that have centaurs, mortars, rocket launchers, blunderbusses and greenskin slaves…

I was going to defend my post but Thommy has hit the nail on the head with his last comment.

I agree, but i really don’t think anyone on here is going to confuse the two.
mantic are firmly aiming at large armies on a budget. not top quality, but good enough, for me at least.

Looks like an interesting “mortar” is coming soon;

Looks like an interesting "mortar" is coming soon;I like it! a bit small in comparison to the GW stuff, but consodering it's supposed to be a 'light' mortar, i think it does the job.

It’s like a Mortar on a budget, both for the players and the Dwarfs themselves
I like it though, seems like it could almost fit in a LoA list, but with huge batteries of them between the FW warmachines

here’s the price, looks like a great deal for 10…think I’ll pre-order some…looks like I have some greenstuff work ahead of me…

am I wrong in thinking (based on what I’ve read here) that just because GW has chaos dwarves and such, that no other company has the right to base any of their products on that. Have you guys never heard the phrase"Imitation is the sincerist form of flattery?" or do you think that GW can just tell everybody not to do a certain things because they did it first? I think its great that other companies are putting out cheaper alternatives to GW’s stuff.Please let me know if I’m wrong in my thinking …

Nothing to do with saying how good the stuff is that you want to copy it - it’s all about the fact that these could lose GW money because they’re the same thing that they invented. Same principle as a patent.

Same principle as a patent.GW can only patent "their" particular design of a goblin or chaos dwarf, or chaos warrior..etc..not the overall word or other companies ideas or designs of how they should look..if that was the case then all the miniature designers and sculptors here are stealing GWs patent by designing their own chaos dwarves.You can design any type of miniature as long as it doesn't exactley resemble another companies patented design..

I was using patents as an example of a similar idea, rather than a direct application
