For my unit of Obsidian Guard I want to make masked minis. I’m using the standard CD axe-men, but what do you guys think is the easiest way to add masks to the models? Sculpt them on each model individually? Or got an easier solution?

black hammer:
Nitro;s right. if you make a cool mask, other than trying to sculpt a replica, just make a simple green-stuff mold. Especially for large units.
Hashut’s Blessing:
As has been suggested, it’s a good idea to make one you like (if you want them all to be the same) or a few (if yhou want some variety) and then cast them (whether using GS or resin or what-have-you). It helps to maintain consistency throughout the quality of the masks and will speed things up exponentially.
For details on how to GS mould and cast, do a search for Xander’s guide.
Ogrob:
I sculpt mine individually, but keep them pretty simple.
Though I imagine you’re thinking of a different style to what I do. I’d advise trying both methods, because sticking a mask on with glue might make it look like it dosn’t really belong on the model.

I’m just sculpting them on. Yesterday I tried it out, and as it turns out, it’s really easy to sculpt masks. I did five of them in less than 20 minutes.
But thanks anyway for the replies
