Hi all,
I am going to put a unit of BC together for my army as i think they are too iconic not to, whatever their stat/size.
My question is, do people think it’s okay to model them with all options in one unit and then tell opponent what they are armed with at the start of each battle. eg roughly 1/3 HW+S, 1/3 AHW, 1/3 GW, no spears. Sort of like BlOrcs without the ability to change weapons as needed?

Unless you’re planning on taking them to a tournament, model them up however you want. If you are planning on attending tournaments, you’ll want to either A] magnatize the arms so you can swap weapons or B] pick a type of weapon and stick with it.

WHat i find works is (and you’ll need 6) model one row with one option and the other row with the other option - therefore your front row will be what the opponent sees. If you have command, even better then as you have your musician and standard bearer, and than 4 models to use as your leader.

Thanks for the comments. I’ve not used magnets yet but might give it a try on the second batch of 3. Waiting for bits to arrive and start bashing. Another question, as I am sticking (sort of) with the Temple Guard fluff can anyone suggest an ornate great weapon? I don’t want to use chaos halberds, and most others seem too small to look right on a BC. What do people think about Ushabti great weapons? And while I’m at it, any ideas for large enough shields for the secind batch?

I would have no problem with that in a game, so long as it was obvious, i.e not running one lot with HWS and using them as GW and another unit with HWS and using them as GW in the same army.

And while I’m at it, any ideas for large enough shields for the secind batch?ushabti weapons sounds like a neat idea. there doesn’t seem to be many options for ornate weapons. that might be the best option. otherwise I would go with ogre, minotaur, or deamon prince weapons. for the shields I would go with either chaos warrior shields or ogre gut plates.
