Think I was possessed by the chaos gods today because I suffered from temporary insanity in my local game shop and splashed out on the citadel mega paint set. It cost me £150!!! I’m still trying not to think about the price because it makes me want to faint!!!
I think buying the entire range of paints is very exciting. Aside from the $$$, look at the good points: not missing any of the colours, suddenly being able to try new combinations of colours simply because they’re right there, not having to mix intermediate colours because you have them all… Also, to me, the sight of so many cans of paint is pretty inspiring.
Meh, I bought one long ago and never used most of the paints. Slow painter, so they dried up on me over a period of... hmm 7-8 years?
That's madness!
At least it got me started as I would always put off painting "because I don't have that one shade to complete the scheme".
Edit: Look at that I'm a Deamon Prince now. Cool!

Zoinks, dried out on you in 7 - 8 years... believe it or not, I'm still using some of the paints I got back in 1989!!!! I have to add a smidge of water every now and then, but for the most part they're still kicking!!!
ps vulcanologist... that's awesome really.. I'm a little jealous!! now paint some stuff up and post some pics!
I bought the set in my GW days so got it at half price but some pots I’ve never used have dried out so still feel robbed!:~
I do know that there are colours in the set I will never use and that I’ve caught myself using others over and over so don’t know if in the end I maybe could have bettter bought pots individually… Well, I do know I got way too many paints as it is!
I have most GW paints from all different era’s, Vallejo, Tamiya, and some others… Oh well, good thing I hadn’t met the missus yet when I got them. I don’t think she’d understood hahaha!!! :cheers
Still it’s an amazing set… Been painting like mad(it helped that the missus& the kids were out at a Halloween party!) finished my golden hat entry and my first chaos dwarf warriors and also my death rocket! I’ll update my army blog later today
