[Archive] Mordheim Plague Cart

Zuh-Khinie:

Hey guys,

I need your advise and google/ebay-fu.

Friend of mine missed buying a Plague Cart by a day when specialist games went down. It’s the last piece he needed to finish his warband.

Though Carnival of Chaos is very flavourful in the fluff-department, it blows on the field. Which, looking at its cost in- and outgame, is why I don’t really understand why he wants one so badly…

Anyhow, prices for it on ebay are beyond insane. Does anyone here have knowledge of a dark and forgotten nook or cranny of the internet where a complete Cart could be found for a reasonable price?

Cheers in advance guys!

My best advice would be to convert one. I mean, it shouldn’t be difficult! Especially because I’d wager that the internet offers plenty of third party alternatives (search for “carts”, “carriages”, and so on)…

Your estimation of the cart is correct. Really not worth it in-game, but it’s a set piece for the warband and I can understand wanting it from a completest perspective. That said, the official model is quite unimpressive: a box with an oddly undersized driver and some boring horses. Compared to the conversions I’ve seen (the one perched atop the back of a giant slug comes to mind), it’s not worth the effort to track down or the ludicrous prices asked.

However, my opinions aside, I feel the Cart pops up on eBay more than the warband, so it may just be a matter of time. He could also try checking in periodically with Chaos Orc’s Superstore (.com). The site doesn’t have it currently, but his stock fluctuates. Another option is NobleKnightGames.com; they have a feature where you can add items to a Want List and are notified by email if/when they manage to secure the oop item. It’s a longshot for both sites, for sure, but it’s all I could come up with. I often have to wait for a major convention here in the US, like GenCon or AdeptiCon, to hit up the big bitz vendors like Toledo Game Room for that kind of stuff. Depending on where your friend resides, there may be similar in-person venues throughout the year to hunt.
