[Archive] My 5th/6th Edtion Chaos Undivided Force

Willmark:

Chaos was actually the third army I collected after Empire and Dark Elves back in the 3rd edition days. But since the early 2000s they have sat around neglected; far too long. So I’ve been working on splitting out my chaos force from its third edition minis to its 5th/6th edition ones.

The 3rd edition force was based around Khorne and I have now left them as such. Pics to follow perhaps in a different thread. Since its cold here in western NY its appropriate that I pick back up on my chaos warrior army with its snowy theme.

For the focus of this I’m going to start with my chaos Lord and his sled/sledge. Previously I talked about him here http://www.chaos-dwarfs.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=16491. As noted its been about a year and I wasn’t sure what to do with the antlers so I set him aside. I started last night after looking at some elk antlers on the web as inspiration.

Here is the Chaos Lord and his sled underway. Of special note is that I added a few extra bits to him, including an extra arm. Looks cool and another axe to boot.

That gift that keeps on giving comes through again:the [[Battle for Skull Pass]] contributes to this model. How? The antlers are comprised from spider legs and the ends of toothpicks. These form the under-basis of the antlers. Next up will be some ever so careful green stuffing (mine is actually gray) to fill in the gaps. I think they came out pretty good, really looking forward to them painted.

The WIP general.

The full army rebuilt thus far is here: http://dogsofwaronline.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=2547&pid=21765#pid21765

Abecedar:

Looking good. Except their a bit tall

Willmark:

Nah ever see the racks on some elk, it’s ridiculously huge.

Abecedar:

Sorry for the mistake… I meant the warriors.

And reading your reply I got all excited when you wrote ‘rack’ but was soon deflated when you said ‘elk’

Fuggit Khan:

Very cool!

A bit late for Christmas, but such a clever conversion!

And I also misread the bit about the “huge rack” :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

How could warriors be too big? The driver is the one who cane either it. The Lord? He's supposed to be big and imposing and built from chaos warrior parts. I'm confused.

This made me laugh however.

I see the gutter has company ;)

Willmark:

The sled for my 5th/6th edition chaos lord is finished and posted:

Pappa Midnight:

Loving the war sled! I may have to “borrow” that idea in future…

Weirdly enough I used to have a substantial chaos army “back in the day”. They have all long gone. My interest in CDs has kick-started my interest in chaos humans and I have been toying with building a small force. Have you seen the Russian Alternative Barbarians of the Wastelands? I’m thinking of using a combination of these , GW and Red-box games Helsvakt.

Regards

PM

Willmark:

Many thanks but I didn’t come up with the idea, it was from WD #278.

Now that I have my light box straightened out I’ll need to take some better photos.

Ah-ah-ah. Knowledge is power, Dark Lord. And particularly so monopoly on knowledge. A Sith must surely understand the value of keeping others ignorant in matters to enhance the status of one's own knowledge? And likewise to deprive others of knowledge in order to lend one's own works a veneer of original genius and mystique to better keep underlings in line? Surely you do not share such revelations of ancient lore to the ignorant without a price to be paid. :P

Only kidding. That warsled is a great build! Neatly painted, too.

Willmark:

Updated with 5 Marauder horseman! 5th/6th edition force is rounding to form.

To finish it all off? Perhaps a chaos giant?

Ghrask Dragh:

Would like to,see your take in a giant, those conversions are great my fav being the multi-armed Lord

Admiral:

Pictures, o dark lord. We summon thee, pictures, from the abyssal depths! Great minis with a neat paintjob. Chaos Giants are always welcome.

Many thanks I'll take some better pics tonight.

As far as the giant I have s very good idea of how I want him to look. Anyone got the plastic giant set they want to part with? ;) I'm tracking a few on eBay but not quite complete enough and would rather not have to buy the whole set if I don't need to.

Ghrask Dragh:

Looking forward to those

None I want to part with I’m afraid but I have a few spare bits lying around if there’s anything you want let me know :cheers

Willmark:

Thanks that’s more of a general comment to everyone rather than just you.
