[Archive] My Dawi Zharr blog

GamingBear:

Well it is time i put on display my work for the Dawi Zharr.

A bit of story beforehand. My Dwarfs are the Burning Malice (or the name they go by). They like all Chaos Dwarfs pride themselves in slave trading, raids, warfare and Warmachines. Their Sorcerer Prophet and his Coven of Daemonsmiths made a bargain with a Lord of Change who required Arcane Portals built to ferry his troops from the Realm of Chaos into the World.

With the deal struck the Burning Malice began moving out of their fortress, accompanying the Daemons, testing their newest Arcane Warmachines while taking their toll of slaves. Charged also with being Keepers of the Portals of Change, the Dwarfs also act as guardians over the swirling portals through which the Daemonic incursion sometimes charges forth.

In the devastation left by the Daemonic horde, the survivors are easily rounded up by the bands of Hobgoblin Raiders and Infernal Guard. The fortunate ones labor in the mines, while those chosen are soul drained gradually used to power the Portals of Change.

Now pictures, Fireglaive attemptm I am rather new to greenstuffing.

WIP Guy!

More will come soon!

bigdark:

Badass backstory, I grinned.

I too am new at green stuffing, its pretty fun! Looks like you made a great crack at it.

Don’t be afraid to go back and cut/scrape/file/sand your greenstuff work into what you wanted them to be in the first place.

And as far as your edge weapons go - I would use plasticard. Your axe has a badass shape, I am sure you could have had an easier time with plasticard to get the same result.

I look forward to seeing the rest of your tinkerings!

sheogorath:

very nice early attempts for greenstuff work! I echo bigdark’s comment about plasticard for the weapon edges. Maybe even use it for the armor? always use plasticard over greenstuff whenever possible, is my motto.

can’t wait to see more!

GamingBear:

Here are more updates lads and lasses!

- Fireglaives regiment, nearly done and ready to go to painting! - The dripping stuff on the musician’s instrument is magma., the weird tendrils on the Chaos Star are supposed to be fire.

- Sorcerer Conversion, here casting some spell.

- Regiment’s front rank and my silly Sorcerer Conversion!

Yodrin:

Very nice conversions, great work!

Abecedar:

As bigdark said don’t be afraid to re-work your green stuffing after its set, it can always be re-done if it doesn’t work. If you dont want to bother with buying plasticard for your axes, you can use old credit / gift cards. for more thickness I glue a few together

Kera foehunter:

i like your green stuff a couple of things that may help you .use a 50/50 mix of blue and yellow   let it set for 20 min. then work it. you can make mold with the green stuff to help with detail design on your shields exp.  this could give your banner more detail.
but a great big hug … you did well

Glimpse the Void:

Love those fireglaives! They are proper menacing!
