Inspired by masterpainter Dino, I grubbed about some empire soldiers in the darkest coner in my cellar-room… And then I struck a bonanza! I?Tve found:
1 mounted General
2 Metal Sigmarpriests
20 Spearguys
10 Handgunners
8 Knights ?" incl. The old pantherknight standartbearer one.
1 Mortar
1 Great cannon
10 Militia
Too bad, because they are the old ones … :mask
You have already seen my General here. Next up are the spearboys: I have just finished the commando… Here they are!
Cheers, always stay your beer cool and your gunpowder dry
When I read this topic from you I was hoping to see a banner like your avatar...
Grimstonefire
Well, I am trying to paint a banner like my avatar (Prussian ?o1. Regiment der Jäger zu Pferde"). At the moment I am also painting my li?Tl prussian army (scale 1/72), maybe I?Tll show you later ;)
Great start, was the unit part painted already for you to do it all in one day?
Grimstonefire
Thanks. I had just to paint the metalics, spearshafts, shields, leathers and other little things ?" so I had already painted the red and yellow areas.
How do you do the skin tones? I struggle with flesh, and you did a nice job.
swissdictator
I basecoat everything with GW Bestial Brown, then I add more and more GW Bronzed Flesh ?~til I got pure Bronzed Flesh. Then I add a little bit white et voilá, they?Tre ready! But I always experiment with skintones, but more you?Tll see when I will paint my militia.
great !job like the reds and yellows nice and clean

Thank you! The yellow is easy to paint: white basecoat -> paint everything with GW golden yellow. Shade the yellow with GW Vomit Brown (or simply add vomit brown to the golden yellow and shade in different steps). Finally I accent the yellow with GW Sunbrust Yellow, then add more white to the sunbrust yellow and ?~ere you go. The red works very same: red gore -> blood red and blazing Orange ?" of course i mixed ?~em to get a lot of different colours.
Awesome banners....judging by the shine, I assume you gloss coated these. Do you prefer that look?
I like more flat, but I like the protection of gloss, so I tend to gloss, but then use a matte spray, to cut the glare.....
Just wondering, and love to see more!

Well, I dont gloss with something. I don?Tt use gloss paint or matt lacquer, but yes, my miniatures are always looking a little bit shiny :(.
But now the update: I have finally painted the unit, and here they are. 20 guys incl. their Commando and a detail shot of one face.
