I saw the bases and said “is that Oregeno?” I think its hillariously awesome that you’re using Italian seasoning…

:lol And I love the smell of it.
Much like the previous update, some more progress updates on various models out of the 35. Again there is still quite a ways to go as I really have not addressed the metallics yet, nor have I addressed the faces. But its getting there.
We saw this Reaper Miniature in an earlier post, here is the update on him, continuing that blue hot rod flame treatment through the army, I’ll probably reverse the color scheme at some point just to keep it fresh.

Another of my mutants, this one I used blood letter legs merged with the marauder torso, painted in a flesh tone, kind of makes for a creepy look.

Next mutant, haven’t shown this guy yet. I’ve done this mini, primarily to get someone aggravated. :lol

And then one of the old beastmen. I still like these guys, he’ll fit with the rest of my rabble.

GRNDL:
What colours are you using for skin/flesh? Even without lots of blending they look very good together.
PsychosisPC:
The ultra magnification of the pictures making something an inch tall now appear six inches tall kind of makes things appear worse than they are.
All of the flesh tones I’m using are from the Reaper Master Series triads. Base coat is Tanned Shadow, 50/50 tanned shadow and tanned skin, highlights are Tanned Skin, Tanned Highlight, and then Fair Skin shadow. They have a variety of triads, I really love their bone triads and blood triad also.
Theory_Man:
Most impressive paint job and conversion work. :hat off
PsychosisPC:
This is the first of the two spawn, painted up in a brown paint scheme. I originally thought about painting the back spines on the model in the horn and claw paint colors, but thought it need a bit more color, was looking slightly drab.

Ishkur Cinderhat:
Damn those spawn are such cool models… I still have four of these sitting completely unpainted on my shelf!

PsychosisPC:
Very much like the exalted on foot, I wanted to have a test knight for paint scheme, prior to building the others…and an interim exalted. I sculpted the Slaanesh symbols on the shoulder pads, and added the jewels elsewhere on the horse. And I did a bit of freehand work on the cape, which I made out of brownstuff. I think he turned out okay and the head I think is a good choice for my mutated army. That shield is absolutely grizzly and so I think it fit well with what I’m doing. Most of my future knights will be tzeentch or khorne marked, but this is a long term project and will probably cap out at about 3000+ pts by the time I’m done.

Clinkz:
Another awesome edition to this thread, nice detail in the face and that cloak is very cool too
Dino:
Now that is one awsome looking chaos knight. Can’t to see all the knights you make and the full 3000 points you will be making.
PsychosisPC:
Thanks guys. This is Blue Spawn. I really like the look of the model, but in hindsight I wish I would have changed how the troll body leans so far forward. I also attempted to subdue my normal approach to painting blue, making it pop less and also more flat in appearance, which I think worked for what I was trying to do.

I am going to have to remember in my future spawn making to do conversion of the lacerated skin like what this former chaos troll model has. I think that is a cool effect.
That’s it for a little while on my warriors of chaos. I need to get caught up on commission work and bolster my Demons of Chaos for 8th edition tournament season, since its the only army I have that is playable at the moment, and with 8th it needs a bit of tweaking.
Xander:
Nicely done. Are you liking spawns in 8th?
Also, now that you are pausing your WoC, when are we going to see a Hellcannon or two?!
PsychosisPC:
So far yea, but with Spawn its always random, kind of like the new charges, they did get hurt a little by the attacking by initiative order compared to that unreliable occassional charge launching that you use to get, I almost always get charged anyways with them, it always seems like your dice roll leaves you an inch short of hitting something. I’ve always used them for acting as speed bumps on the flanks and they are usually initially tougher than most flanking units, with them being unbreakable, so they hold things up a little.
On the Hellcannon I actually ordered the dwarves from Red Box and Reaper that I plan to use, and have a plan. And fellow madman Mike Butcher had a hellcannon to trade, so I actually have the gun portion semi-put together, its all of the other eye candy that needs to be done, the butcher block/dismemberment rack, the dead bodies to feed the gun, blood, other changes, etc.
I plan to use the cannon and chassis and modify it a bit, and put it sort of on its own movement tray or display base.
The bolstering of the demons, will be some more bloodletters and demonprince. I almost have the bloodletters done, but I’m going to freehand some stuff on all of the banners that I’m adding. Its the commission work that is needing to get done. I’ll probably return to the WoC in late October, so a short hiatus.
Unzul:
i love very much the ogres in the maruaders unit… it’s a funny and impressive idea… good work…
PsychosisPC:
Been a while since I updated things. But I’m getting back into the flow of chaos. Want to finish up my expansion of my Warriors of Chaos army before moving onto my orc army and a new 40k space marine army.
For Knights I have decided to go with two units of six. One unit will be tzeentch marked and the other Khorne marked and both will be in the same paint scheme as the rest of my army seen in this blog.
For my tzeentch I decided to use the Maxmini heads as I think they look appropriate. I decided my knights need some converting and capes are an obvious thing to do.

Then the banner man, needed a small bit of converting.

I haven’t decided if I like the GS on the horse or not. If it does not look good in paint, I’ll peel it off and do it freehand. Slow start but much more to come on these. I’ll be sculpting Tzeentch symbols on a few of them.
ryanamandaanna:
Holy cow, these are great! Did you make any more progress on the sorcerer on disk?
PsychosisPC:
Got some progress, just finishing up the knights and ton more marauders.
The Tzeentch unit nears completion, still have the cape to do for the one miniature, you can see the support that I have built up on his back. The Max-mini heads really set these apart and make them look good. I have a chaos warrior unit and a chosen unit, those will have plenty of the warrior heads on them, so these knights had to be different.
This is not the movement tray that I will use for these, this is one of the spares that was from a junked project.
The banner man and the unit champ are mounted a bit forward. The one benefit of doing this is that it does help with the ranking up of some crazy poses. This won’t work as well for you if you do not make a movement trays a bit wider.
Pic of the musician and banner man.

The musician is just pinned to the base so that I can remove him for painting and then reassemble.
And I love this shield, had it for quite a while now, and thought this would put it to good use. A no-prize for who can name who makes this shield.

And I have made some progress on coming on the disco rider.
PsychosisPC:
Thought I was done with marauders then came up with the idea to do a few more.
The one above uses a head that I have laying around for quite a few years.
And I found some mutant bits so I needed to use them up…

Also found a torso from an old centigor that needed mending. And beastmen make good mutant marauders in my army.

And a few more for good measure.

Abecedar:
Truly awe-inspiring work. Is it true if you’ve got a big enough bits box, that stuff will breed in there?
