I’ve always thought the smoking phial from the Empire Wizards box would work well for that sort of thing - any evil liquid item, come to that. That way, it’d look like it could be lobbed by hand, and be obvious what it is?

Being australian I thought a can or bottle of “beer” would be an ideal throwable looking item

I like the glass ball filled with Naptha with a fuse coming out. Keep it simple.
