[Archive] Need a rules idea

Grimstonefire:

Ok, so a unit I have had in my list for nearly 5 years are called the Brotherhood of Hashut.  Warrior priests and monks.

They have longbeard stats heavy armour, halberd and shield.

They have Stubborn as a special rule, and also Hashut’s Chosen, a rule similar to the Deathblow from SoC whereby they can make another attack (at base strength) before they are removed.  Hard to kill, but in a different way from the 3+ AS immortals.

I’ve been thinking I need to update the rule because of Supporting Attacks.

So would now be the time to replace this or work around it do you think?  I want something that represents Hashut watching over them.  A plain ward save would do it I guess, but it’s a bit boring.

Thommy H:

Ward save versus Flaming Attacks?

I wouldn’t worry too much about Supporting Attacks though - it doesn’t really interact in any way with the rule you’ve described. When a model is removed, it makes another Attack: that’s pretty simple. Maybe make it a straight S4 hit instead? I don’t know what the fluff is, but it could be a sort of divine backlash, or the rest of the Brotherhood surging forward in response to the martyrdom of their fellows, so it wouldn’t have to be linked to the model being removed per se.

Baggronor:

Yeah, an auto hit whenever you kill one of them sounds right. Str 3 is probably nicer though, extra Str 4 hits could get very killy if the troops themselves are already hitting at Str 5?

Thommy H:

S3 Flaming might be cool. As I say, I don’t know what the fluff justification is though.

Baggronor:

Could just give them Blazing Body? Might get expensive though.

Hashut’s Blessing:

Burning Blood of Hashut for a S2, AP flaming hit upon death?

Scions of Shadow for a -1 To Hit penalty?

Forgesons - may use halberd and shield simultenously? May use parry save? May choose to use shield/halberd in combat?

Grimstonefire:

Burning Blood of Hashut for a S2, AP flaming hit upon death?

Hashut's Blessing
Now there is a clear winner! I can just imagine the CD getting badly cut apart, his skin blackening around the cuts. Then with his dying breath he mutters a final prayer to Hashut before bursting into flames and blowing apart.

:hat off

Thommy H:

Isn’t that almost exactly what Baggronor and I suggested? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Grimstonefire:

Almost… just without the reminder that there is a fluff precedence in LoA with the Blood. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Tbh I hadn’t actually read yours or Bagg’s second suggestions before replying, but presumed I had.

Hashut’s Blessing:

Sorry, as Thommy H said, it’s another version of what he and Baggronor said. I just decided to tweak it to seem more like spitting flames of Hashuty death, combined with the alchemical natures of their armour, inventions and battle tools (E.G. Blood of Hashut). That being said - glad we three could help :stuck_out_tongue:
