Building a horde of 70-75 Hobgoblin archers. The bases for the miniatures are lava with the models sitting on a small piece of corkboard that is suppose to resemble a rock. Need some help with a filler for this unit. I will be running them 15 wide and 5 deep. If anyone knows of any good fillers for something like this would be greatly appreciated.
some blocks with only lava and small bits of “rock”, a small geyser of lava, the remains of a ruin surrounded bu lava, a tilted piece of “rock” with a hobgob(s) slidding into the lava
I like my unitfillers to be models of some kind, not just terrain.
A BfsP captured slayer en a cage on a 4040 base, to goblins holding chained chaos warhound/LotR warg (they’re cheap) on a 6040 base, a store of arrows/bows/gear and a superviser, 2 goblins fighting (animosity) on a 40*40 base, a chaos dwarf/fat goblin overseer on a pedestal or platform.
Unitfillers should bring som life to a unit and is about cheating the eye. The filler can’t look “empty” or as a hole in the unit.
One thing I thought to do was have some 40mm bases out there and paint them with lava. Then put an ogre head on the base that looks like he is yelling and half an ogre arm sticking out of the lava beside the head. This way it will look like he is falling in the lava. Maybe have a few of those with ogres, beastmen, and either humans or Chaos.
