Hello fellow chaos dwarf players

Here is the list I have been slowly refining  2500 pts RH list!, Usually I take lvl 4 shadow lvl 2 death, I try for Withering and soul blight to de-buff toughness so make the rockets and cannons hit harder. I use Miasma and the EC’s to slow anything fast down and to prevent shooting. I use death default to snipe. Ideally I can use the 2 blocks dwarfs to flank when the slaves have engaged. I use the wolfs to get flanks or hunt war machines. Bolt throwers are the best thing in the army, S6 D3 wounds with no AS are my bread and butter for killing big things.

Da Crusha:

not sure about the 2 units of 10 wolf riders. other than that I think it is ok. I would suggest using the chalice of darkness to cripple their dispel dice or possibly deny them a magic phase if they roll low enough.

Loki:

I like the list have you play tested it yet ?

nitroglysarine:

ooops, i must have hit the wrong button on the poll, my vote should be positive not negative.

-sorry dude, looks good, i’d just say give it a play test or two.

Unzul:

nice list, maybe 6 bolt throwers are too many, 4 better, but otherwise is a good job

richard barby:

i think you have to take a mage lord if your playing chaos dwarfs and add other heros/lords in later if you have the points

so your on the right track shadow and death are great in combo as well.

i would say 11 warmachines wont win you many friends but if your up against poeple who are going hard out with there own pile of warmachines go for it.

where i would look to go is feed your enermy the wolf riders in order to slow them down and leed them away from your main line as you magic and war machines pound them . i also think 10 archers would not go a miss bring them in for some of the hobgoblins. you would benifit from them picking off dark riders hounds eagles and save your war machines for better targets

all this is from the guy has great ideas but never uses them

KingFisher:

Thank for all the help guys. I have play tested this a few times an do alright. Usually I try to keep the dwarfs out of combat til turn 5, and use the hob goblins and magic/shooting to whittle the enemies down.

Yeah basically I use the high leadership and high warmachine counts to make up for the lack of CD special army rules.

When I cut warm machines I cut the Death rockets, being able to target the bolt throwers to hit high toughness enemies is too important.

I am coming to accept if I am ever to win combats it will have to be with big blocks of GW dwarfs and big blocks of Hob Goblins.

I imagine Shadow magic helps there too :)

I think its a decent list, though I would personally prefer more Dwarfs in 2500. Do you find it tricky to wipe people out? That was my initial impression of trying a RH list in 8th, where I found the 'ranged' approach would always leave a survivors who just ran off and hid. Pretty annoying.

That's been my problem in my last few games too. Skaven have proven tricky to wipe out completely. It doesn't matter at the end of battle if half a unit is running around panicked if I don't get any points for them. And the ones that do rally just hide out some place with more cheap-costed units moving forward blocking my access to the weak ones.

I packed some additional fire power last game, including Fireball to try and help deal with this, but never got a chance to implement it. Didn't matter in the end as my opponent conceded defeat when all but his General were panicked and about to run off the battle field ;)
