The common folk are making this kit look better than the Eavy Metal team.
This kit seems a lot better than the ugly static arrangements that EM used give it credit for.

Shakhorth:
I agree, these look better then the 'eavy metal team Daemons. These might persuade me to actually buy the model.
Hashut’s Blessing:
Choice of colours certainly do lend something extra special and more interesting. Shows the model in a FAR better light. If only I could do as well
AGPO:
EM seem to have really fallen down in terms of colour selection recently. THe Vampire Counts range is another that I’d never given much credit to until I popped onto Carpe Noctem and took a look at their painting threads. The EM team are undoubtedly very, very talented painters but I’d really question the schemes they’re using these days.
snowblizz:
That actually makes the model look good! I’ve been despairing over the fugly model since I first saw it 2 years ago now, right? In the WoC book.
Obsidian:
I am liking this kit more and more, will definitly get one!
Loki:
They are some great looking models, i wont be getting the model my self as want those new high elves that are coming out, but its still tempting
clam:
Sadly it’s plastic - had it been a metal model …
- but you never know what might end up in the shopping cart, next time shopping at Maelstroms
AGPO:
I’m personally glad its plastic, but to each his own. I’d be interested to see how this model holds up to painting. I’m going to want a fair few so we’ll soon see
Joshmohr:
I always paint better on plastic. To paint well on metal, I must hand prime it.
AGPO:
I can’t see why hand undercoating would make a difference.
slev:
Plastics are easier to work due to the softer material, easier to glue (poly on plastic), easier to convert due to the lighter material, easier to prime, and they bounce rather than break when dropped, plus are lighter and hence easier to transport.
Now that they are capable of producing plastics to as high a quality as metals, I’ve never really seen a good argument for metals over plastics, beyond economy of scale costs.
cornixt:
Looks like enough parts for my plans to make a Slaaneshi daemon with a worm tail even after making a fully equipped normal daemon prince.
clam:
I can only say, that I still prefers metals to plastics. Plastic might be a great material for making kiddies toys and multi part model kits, like planes, tanks etc. - but collectable war gaming miniatures should be done in metal (if it was up to me to decide)
But back on topic. I’ve really come to like this kit (metal or not) - so many cool options:
- so I think I’m convinced now I’ll pick up this kit.
Zanko:
Nice models - but I’m not convinced!
Should I buy another Greater Demon I would buy the Heresy one!
Imo this guy looks much better - as you can also see at clams Showcase Blog!

Fallen246:
I dunno bout you guys, but the first thing I noticed was that if I could find substitutes for a second back, a second tail (easy as) and a substitute for some legs, I could make two daemon prince models :P

one set of wings though.
but i guess pinch a set of balrog wings and your’e away.
Fallen246:
one set of wings though. The skull/trophy racks go into the wing slots, if you look closely. So you would only have one set of wings but still...

As said, I already got that one - and it's metal :P - and yes, it's one of the most awesome daemons ever made (IMO) - best one is still Heresy's Netherlord Mk I - God, I wish I had known of that model before it was to late.
Nice models - but I'm not convinced!
