Since the Hell Cannon is now considered a “monster” rather than a warmachine.
You think the engineer can still use his reroll on it?
I would think no, as it’s not a warmachine, but I do think this is a perfect chance to submit a 2nd FAQ, and possible get other questions answered as well…
Anyone else think of some questions we can submit to Warhammer Forge? anyone happen to know Neil Peckett?

It was classified as a monster in 7th edition as well, it just fired as a war machine, and the deamonsmith re-roll worked for it then so i would say nothing has changed other than point cost and a 5++ on the bad boy :cheers
the points won’t change without an faq since its points is written in our book. this could potentially be a problem giving us a cheaper or more expensive hellcannon. if its cheaper we will undoubtedly get more attention as a cheese army.

Da Crusha
Its a very small increase in price, a hobgoblin with a bow, so i don't think it is that much of a game breaker to incorporate the price into our armies.

Changes are:
1. Movement 3
2. Magical attacks (ranged & close combat) - Hellcannon only
3. 5+ Ward save
4. Misfire chart (3) change to wizards within 24" take a Ld test & if they fail it they suffer a Miscast
5. Points cost go up 5 pts for Warriors :)
If the cost is any different, I think it’d be extremely disingenuous for anyone to use it at the price quoted in Tamurkhan. Anyone using the unavoidably linear nature of causality to get a small advantage in a miniature wargame clearly has issues.
Its only 5 points, so I will defiantly just pay 210 for it if I bring it (friendly or tournament) thats 5 points and you avoid all stupid cease and what not discussions. 5 points never made me win a game anyways so there is no problem. Oh and as per FAQ the reroll stays as stated.

i would like to add that his ability to cause panic with the template changed a bit. now the enemy has to take a casualty to take a panic test at -1, while in the previous book the template only had to hit and not cause casualties for the test to take place.
Which makes sense, since the 8th Edition stone thrower rules allow you to place the template anywhere within range. So unless it scatters right off the unit (usually unlikely) you were guaranteed to trigger a panic test.
I’ve got some more questions about the hellcannon. I’ve been searching google, looked and read on lots of forums, seen references to different erattas and so on. I’m not much wiser, there seems to be a lot of debate about the hellcannon. So I’ll just ask here and get my answers from prophets of Hashut.
1. The hellcannon is a monster, not a warmachine. Is it allowed to move and fire?
2. Being a monster (but single base), is it allowed to pivot on the spot before firing? Or is that considered movement (see question 1). Thus being depending totally on how it’s placed during setup.
There’s a lot of monsters carrying warmachines as weapons these days, and those weapons are often allowed to shot even when the monsters moves. So I wonder if it’s the same for the hellcannon.
Otherwise it seems like there’s just one thing to do with it.
Turn 1: Fire.
Turn 2+: Get to the enemy on the double and start munching/thunderstomping away.
