[Archive] Only One Sorcerer on foot Model?

BLOOD AXE:

Ive looked at some old Chaos Dwarf catalogs w/ pics. Is there only ONE Chaos Dwarf sorcerer on foot model?

Just one?:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

AGPO:

I seem to recall two but that may just be my poor memory. You can always use Astrogoth if you’re just using the dwarf rules

Thommy H:

Yep - there’s the generic one and Astragoth.

BLOOD AXE:

Ok, I was hoping to use Astragoth as a Lord. Maybe I can use a Sorcer and just do a weapon swap.

Ammrik Gunrock:

I just painted them each differently and, like you, saved Astrogoth as my lord.

One has black robes and a red cape, other has red robes and a black cape. There brothers in my armies fluff so It works for me.

BLOOD AXE:

That will have to work, i guess. Different paint & a weapon swap.

Thanks guys.

Tarrakk Blackhand:

I thought he was asking about the contest.

I thought he was asking about the contest. :D

Tarrakk Blackhand
No I am not. Im asking about CD models.

Firehammer:

Actually, the bighats have one generic sorcerer, one typical arch sorcerer with petrified legs, and one mounted sorcerer on Lammasu. Three sorcerers is not bad for such a small army. BTW just a reminder: All arch sorcerers get petrified in the end, beginning with the legs, so everyone familiar with the background will identify Astrogoth as a sorcerer and not a fighter lord or general.

Of course, you can find more Chaos Dwarf sorcerers from non-GW companies, but they are not exactly bighats:

1.) Scibor 1: http://www.sciborminiatures.com/en_,shop.php?art=774
2.) Scibor 2: http://www.sciborminiatures.com/en_,shop.php?art=846
3.) Reaper (female) http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/duergar/latest/02988 (Duergar are the evil dwarfs of D&D)
4.) Zargod (larger model but closest to bighats) http://www.chaos-dwarfs.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=6209

plus maybe future models by Dave King or Dwarf Tales http://www.chaos-dwarfs.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=6438 .

Thommy H:

But not all Sorcerer Lords build contraptions to transport themselves… The Astragoth model is specifically designed to be Astragoth.

BLOOD AXE:

Thanks I appreciate you trying to help …but my question was :

Only one Sorcerer on foot? Big hat Chaos dwarf.

I know about Astrogoth & the mounted Sorcerer.

I can only find one, so i guess thats it.

cornixt:

Just those shown in the wiki:

[[Chaos Dwarf Models - 4th to 7th Edition]]

Plus there are a few earlier versions without the bighats:

[[Chaos Dwarf Models - 2nd and 3rd edition]]

Excellent post, thanks kindly for the super links, much appreciated.

Firehammer:

Just found another alternative for an elder, paralysed sorcerer:

It is from the OOP Rackham Confrontation Tir-Na-Bor Dwarfs and from an early set. It is a techno dwarf in a steam powered wheelchair (in pic above, steering) plus his familiar (below right, in the shade):

Sorry, this is the only pic I could find. But Rackham dwarfs are a great source for techno dwarfs!
