[Archive] Orcs/Black Orcs & Facial Hair

Nicodemus:

I know the Greenskins in Warhammer don’t traditionally have facial hair, but is there any precedent for something like an Orc with a beard or moustache or anything like that in the official fluff or artwork? I haven’t been able to find any such reference material, but I haven’t been able to find anything contradicting the possibility of an Orc with facial hair either.

Reason I ask is that I’d really like my Black Orc unit chapion to have a short scraggly beard. Nothing that would rival that of his Masters, but a beard nonetheless

Any thoughts??

Thommy H:

Hair squigs. They have long thin, tentacles that resemble strands of hair and little mouths that latch onto flesh. Just attach a load of them to your chin and voila.

At least that’s how they do it in 40K. No reason Orcs couldn’t do the same thing.

nitroglysarine:

An English handlebar 'tash would look awesome on an orc.

Just dodge a Goatee.

Hashut’s Blessing:

Considering some have topknots, I’d imagine it’s not outside the realm of possibility that they could have facial hair…

silentbob27:

A BO that looks like Lemmy would be killer.

cornixt:

The mongol-style Hobgoblins often had facial hair.
