[Archive] possible CD minis?

RichardC1967:

not sure if this was mentioned previously… but what do you guys think of these as a possible alternative CD’s …not sure how Hobbit minis match up with FW stuff , but with a little tweaking I think these guys could work

Thommy H:

They’ll be noticeably smaller than GW figures. The Lord of the Rings/Hobbit range is true-25mm scale. The hands, heads and weapons are realistically proportioned.

MatNotBarlow:

which is a crying shame as otherwise they look lovely.

WilsonUndead:

I’m sure there’s gotta be some use for them. Also what about those new goblins as hobgoblins, I think the varying size would be acceptable, ya think?

Thommy H:

Yeah, they should work fine - Middle-earth Goblins are closer to human-sized, which translates quite well to gobbo-sized in Warhammer terms. Plus they have less uniform equipment, so the smaller weapons won’t be that noticeable. I’m using the Hunter Orcs as Fell Wargs with a head swap as Hobgoblin Wolf Riders anyway, and they look fine.

Why are there no pictures of this? :hat

Thommy H:

Because they aren’t finished yet. I’ve only got as far as building them. Do you have any idea how many modelling projects I have on the go right now?

JMR:

No, because you don’t post enough WIP pictures

On-topic: I think they’d work fine as evil-alligned dwarves, but they have a style rather different from most other models (especially the fat FW dwarves!). Might be nice to combine them with Anvil Industry dwarves though.

Thommy H:

I don’t post any WIP pictures :stuck_out_tongue:
