[Archive] Questions about traitor Primarchs

WoodenPickles:

okay so Erebus not Lorgar corrupted Horus, it wasnt even a primarch that corupted him but a lowly space marine who curupted the warmaster. I see horus in a totally diferent light now. What is up with Erebus now.

GRNDL:

That is what was revealed in the course of the first two books of the Horus Heresy. Its not clear if Erebus was acting on his own initiative or on Lorgar’s orders, from what I recall. When Horus is mortally wounded, Erebus uses sorcery to heal him, and after that Horus’ opinion of Chaos is changed, possibly infected. It is Horus’ own vanity and pride that corrupts him completely. One could almost say that Erebus had little to do with it.

Well, Erebus works as the facilitator, he's the one who makes sure the Anathema is stolen and delivered (presumably) to the Nurgle Cultists.
He seems to have hand in the heresies. Though the Primarchs themselves are usually the ones who take the final step.

And e.g. Fulgrim is touched by Slaanesh very early on, in his war against the Laer after which he gets a possessed weapon.
