[Archive] Rackham's Dwarf Mechanical Boar Riders

I’d buy them. I’d use them as bull centaurs (or proxy them as bull centaurs) without changing them. I just think Rackham has the same syndrome that GW had in the past… 4 or 5 models with slight variations, but the same model nonetheless. I’d still buy them though.

they look evil and really cool

I don't see it. There are very few repeated elements in the sculpts currently being discussed. Also not sure about "in the past," as GW's preference for plastics pretty much guarantees that every unit is going to be made up on the same components, with no variation whatsoever.

Gaixo, I mean, it’s the same pose, but an arm changes, or the same pose but with no helmet. They look no different to me. The same way GW used to do a metal line was have 5 different guys, but it was the same pose, but a different weapon or helmetless head, etc. The only plastics guaranteed to not look the same are the 2 part snap ones from starter sets. The others you can get alot of variation.

You don’t have to agree with me, I’m ok with that. That just how I see what Rahkam is doing…

Was doing, unfortunately.

I guess there's some similarity in these knights, but I think that mainly owes to the bulkiness and lack of mobility in the armor. Even so, it's nothing like that old GW stuff where 80-90% of the model was identical. I think if you were to go into the Rackham online store and pick ten unit blisters at random (only specify random because it would be slightly easier to pick ten examples from their early history), I honestly think you'd be unlikely to find any two figures that suffer from lack of variance in their pose or details.

I didn't mean to get into a big debate about it, though, so we can agree to disagree or part by other such peaceful means. :)
