[Archive] Red skin, white ice, black metal

Fruthduf:

Cheers for that mate, I read through it and wow it will be interesting to see it done.

What about for the Ice base you posted at the start of the thread? How did you manage that?

Sherlocko:

Lol, that?! :hat off That was just fine gravel on a base. Paint it white-ish, blue ink and then white drybrush. But I think I was to eager so I didn´t wait for the ink to dry fully, plus I think it was still a little wet when I took the picture.

Sherlocko:

Some WIP on the slave ogre. This is the only things my dwarfs can´t do, apparently…

Jake:

Oh…that slave ogre, what model is that?

Really liking your machines. Great idea. I’m sure they’ll look proper fantasy when finished and painted. But in times like this with soul grinders making its way into fantasy, I guess that isn’t that hard to do.

Sherlocko:

It´s a dark eldar grotesque, with most of his weird bitz snipped off…now, that sounded a little bit more dirty than I aimed for.

And thanks! I realised that I perhaps need a few of those should plates within a couple of weeks if it can be arranged. Would be nice to have the entire tag team army assembled before starting to paint.

Jake:

Sure thing! I’ll send it tomorrow. Hon many did you need? 10? 20? Up to you…

Also, the 3-net is down for me -and apparently the rest of Stockholm - so you know if you try to text me or something…

Sherlocko:

There is no hurry, I´ll be gone for a week or so anyways. But 10-12 would be nice.

Yeah, my 3-net have been funky as well lately. Good to know though. I think I sent you something this tuesday or so but not important.

Golder Goldeater:

WOW! That fininshed slayer looks amazing!

The plastics also have a lot of character!

Sherlocko:

Hellbound crew/marker! Just a couple of more war machine crew/wound markers and I´m ready to start paint!

Sherlocko:

Okay, fed up with bare plastics, are you? :stuck_out_tongue:

Then I give you the test base! And it turned out as I wanted it, which was nice for a change. The picture from above is crap but gives you an idea of the colour at least…

Chico:

May i ask how you made your base?, looks very nice

Sherlocko:

It´s foamcore with the paper removed as a base. Which I have stained with purple and blue inks. Then there is two layers of the following repetion:

Lots of Gloss Varnish, dip in white static grass before drying. After drying somewhat, drench in gloss varnish. Repeated once.

NoisyAssassin:

That’s a really cool base. I love the ice crystal effect you got from the static grass.

Karring:

Those crew looks awesome!!!

Sherlocko:

Thanks guys!

Sorry for another bunch of gray plastic, but now everything for the first 1200-isch points are assembled at least so hopefully the next updates will be more colourful.

Everything is removable with magnets and I also have a Deathshrieker Cannon which can replace either of the weapons. The “fourth”(eight for Iron Demon) crew member that is on fire is more of a marker for the extra W when hellbound.

Magma Cannon

Dreadquake Mortar

Iron Demon

Iron Demon with skullcracker instead of gun. Just in case.

Sherlocko:

First 12 points done!

Chico:

Looks good, that base doe’s give him afair bit of extra height.

Grimbold Blackhammer:

I’m not sure if I like the base or not. But I think it’s because I don’t understand it. What is it supposed to represent? It’s kind of grassy…?

The title of the thread might give you a clue... :P

fairoaks024:

Grim, an icy-glacier with frost crystals, i think it’ll be more obvious once there’s a regiment of them.
