Well, my laptop picked up a trojan a couple of days back, so my WHFRP 2nd Edition project has been stalled, as has my assistance to Tarrakk Blackhand with his BfSP videos and there is doubt as to my availability for the next episode of CDR.
Unfortunately, it wiped all of my documents (that’s two years worth of collecting and creating items on there! Believe me, when you’re jobless, that amounts to a lot of stuff, but it had my CV, acting CV, pictures, headshots, contacts and the like on it…), but I’m fighting to reclaim as many as I can and beat the buggering thing off. In the mean time, I have to use my girlfriend’s laptop, but she obviously wants to use it too.
On top of that, it seems that her laptop refuses to connect to the Internet without switching the router off and on again, which is problematic because her brother is always on the Internet and gets VERY moody and angry if his Runescaping and Youtubing is interrupted by ANYthing (including meals).
Long story short, I’m more sporadic than I wish to be and a little delayed in several things - just wanted to warn, apologise and let you know all is well, ebing fixed and I’m doing my best

Theres quite a few data recovery programs out there that can retrieve data deleted by trojans. You should look into a few. A quick search found this: http://www.softwarediscountcodes.com/diskdoctors-articlewindowsdeletedfilerecovery2.html

Now when I realise I’ve picked up a trojan I shut my PC down immediately and boot into safe mode. Delete all the prefetch files and internet files, then do a system restore to a previous date. Seems to have worked both times. No longer using Avast for my anti-virus, MSE hasn’t let me down yet (fingers crossed).

Got a new problem in that my girlfriend’s computer keeps bluescreening and restarting before even getting to a login screen. As a result, I’ve stolen her mum’s computer whilst she’s at work, lol. I think our laptops are essentially buggered is the gist of the matter, but I don’t have the funds to get a new one.
Thanks for the advice though, I’ll see if I can get things to happen, lol.

Well, I’ve basically restored my laptop to factory settings and having to attempt the same with my girlfriend’s. End result, I should be back in business but missing a lot of stuff.
