Zanko:

Imo this sounds (for me) not very promising! :mad

So I hope that the more innovative and smaller companies (like Hasslefree, Heresy, Dragonblood, … ) will release cool metal (!) stuff! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

:hashut

Thorne:

Oh the general vannila marrine push again … Maybe next year nutmeg and cinamon ?

Pyro Stick:

Im really looking forward to seeing the new Grey Knights and Necrons. Other than that it sounds like its going to be a boring year for warhammer.

Joshmohr:

I hope that we get some plastic deff dreads- all of mine are converted!

Pyro Stick
On the contrary, if the other rumours are to be believed this is supposed to be the greatest year for fantasy releases in a long time.

Grimstonefire
Well the forge world rumours sound interesting but i am sick to death of Space Marines, Orks, and Imperial Guard. Im not a fan of Tau and Eldar either. I should have specified that for 40k its mostly going to be a dull, fairly repetative year, but for fantasy it should be better than the past few years. I doubt ill buy any warhammer at all this year though...

AGPO:

Well the new daemons sound very promising, as do the new Dark Eldar.

I’ll reserve judgement on the inquisitorial stuff, but hopefully they can still take guard - I lack the money to do a full guard army, and some grey knights or sisters would chew up the points nicely. My theory is that they’ll do a single Inquisition codex covering the three main Ordos.

Swissdictator:

I wouldn’t mind seeing some plastic Greater Daemons… or at least the two with wings…

Grimstonefire:

@AGPO

I can see the logic of keeping Ordo Malleus and Ordo Hereticus merged (as before), but it would be nice to see them separate as well (Codex Sisters of Battle & Codex Grey Knights).  Would there be any point merging in Ordo Xenos as they only have Deathwatch don’t they?

The issue would be what to name it though…  Codex:  Inquisitors seems likely, but that doesn’t really describe the army itself.  Daemonhunters may not be appropriate if they put in Ordo Xenos.

AGPO:

The original plan was to have three codecies; Witch Hunters, Daemon Hunters and Alien Hunters. As it turned out, Alien Hunters fell by the wayside, perhaps because of the sucky name and the fact that the Deathwatch already had rules. From what I gather, it would have featured rules for Ordo Xenos inquisitors, radicals using xenos tech, more specific variations on the Deathwatch, such as other specialists and Kill Teams equipped for varying roles.

I agree three codexes would be cool and certainly have a lot of scope. However I think they would have the same issues with updates as all rulesets split over several books. Effectively, all ‘Imperial’ armies would then be split between five books.

Codex: Inquisition would make more sense to me. You could use the HQ sections to shape your army - giving an Inquisitor certain upgrades would decide their Ordo and shape his or her force selection. Each Ordo would have access to its own chamber militant, as well as standard selections such as Storm Troopers, Assasins and Arbites squads. Other upgrades would allow you to take allied Marines or conscripted Guard units, and making your inquisitor radical or puritanical would affect the equipment and units you could take in other ways. In larger games you could take more than one Inquisitor That way Inquisitors would rightly be the defining feature of the army, and a valid choice over Captains or Cannonesses. Alternatively if you wanted, you could take an HQ choice from one of the Chambers Militant and build an army based purely around one of those instead.

Likewise allies would be more logical. Anyone wishing to take Inquisitorial allies (with some exceptions like assasins) would first have to field an Inqisitor who authorised their deployment. A Space Marine player could choose to represent a chapter like the Relictors siding with a radical inquisitor and featuring Daemon Hosts, powerful psykers and/or devastating Xenos weapons. Alternatively, you could represent a more orthodox Chapter like the Black Templars siding with a puritanical Ordo Malleus Inquisitor and his retinue of Grey Knights against a daemonic incursion, or with the Ordo Hereticus against a rogue psyker. Similarly, the Ultramarines could take up cause with the Ordo Xenos to take on the Tyranids.

slev:

I’ve said something similar about an “all-in-one” Inquisition codex many times in the past.

Army list as-is, the only difference between the Inquisition armies is the chamber militant/seconded forces option for the Ordo in question. Thus, it becomes four army lists in one book.

from the newsletter:

Incoming! Blood Angels

This April the Blood Angels will be re-launched with an all-new Codex and range of plastic and metal miniatures. One of the oldest and noblest of all Space Marine Chapters, the Blood Angels have stood fast against the enemies of the Imperium since the Great Crusade and it was their Primarch Sanguinius, who laid down his life to aid the Emperor against Horus in the final hours of the Warmaster?Ts rebellion. The new Codex explores the background and history of these superhuman warriors like never before, and contains new artwork depicting some of their greatest battles and most powerful champions.

The Blood Angels have always been a powerful close combat army and have been made even deadlier thanks to a range of specialist wargear, the ability to field Assault Squads as Troops choices, and more Dreadnoughts than any other Space Marine Chapter, including a Death Company Dreadnought and the fabled Furioso Dreadnought. The Sons of Sanguinius will be deep striking onto a tabletop near you this April ?" now?Ts the time to practice painting red.
MOAR M’RINES! ><

GRNDL:

Ugh - and not even an interesting Chapter, nor even Chaos. Where are the Chaos-Specific Legions. Thousand Sons, et al?

Kera foehunter:

Nothing in here for me

Borador:

We could just collect 100.000 authographs from different countries and the EU and then send it to the European Parliament, my teacher in Sociologics ( well something like that XD ) told me that if you could get enough people to sign up for a petition, the EP would be forced to discuss it ;D

And then we’ll have 100.000 people saying they want a new line of CD’s, including an armybook xD

(Let’s keep on dreaming, our day will come, 'till then: “Please stop the torrent of marines.”.)
