[Archive] Scar's miniature Madness painting

Admiral:

Masterclass level as always. That Titan is so well painted it boggles belief. I think your painting and Forgeworld sculpting goes hand in hand like a perfect couple: FW provides endless detail to admire all over, like a technical drawing or a Baroque painting, and you grab this ball and run with it so that the painting is true to the sheer variety of the sculpt. There is no inappropriate techno-area which appears rushed or hastily glossed over in the same colours as the surroundings. You’ve coloured the cables, control panels and so on differently where they deserve to stick out from the surroundings.

Sweet stuff!

:hat off :hat off :cheers

The CDO needs an exploding head head emoticon. Tipping my big hat doesn’t cut it.

Wonderful stuff.

Nicodemus
This is in fact a most appropriate proposal. Was it Xander that cooked up the emoticons? Perhaps we could beg him to do one more? After all, we’ve got Daemonsmithing, possession and weird industrial and sorcerous accidents happenening to our curly-bearded stunties all the time. :yar

Scar:

Haha im flattered!!!

Thanks a lot

So only some kill banners left to make this weekend and then he is done!

Malorndk:

Holy moly. Im feeling giggly in my belly seeing this xD

Scar:

Thanks!

So back to the SOH commission, just a few more models!

Today 4 more characters, tomorrow 2 rhinos and a vindicator!
Then just 2 dreadclaws 1 Kharibdys and 15 reavers and the full army is finished!
Cant wait to set everything up in the photobooth and take pictures of this massive army.

Carcearion:

Wow, amazing work as always.

What’s your next project?

Scar:

Hey all!

Haha so much to do, o&g, eldar, 7th sins, spacewolfs, mechanicum… im booked till april 2018

Today the tanks:

TheHoodedMan:

No wonder you`re booked. The painting of this SoH Army is extraordinary good, even better than some of your earlier works in the thread. The Titan is a masterpiece, the basic color alone is absolutely great, metals, chipping, etc.

But the playable parts  of the force are awesome as well.

Nice to see all these armies growing.

:cheers

Grimstonefire:

Really loving the tank especially, you’re SoH are by far the best anywhere I’ve seen.

Kudos for the titan as well, I’d never have the patience to paint something that big!!

Did you use the salt technique to do your metal textures?

Enjoysrandom:

Yeah the lucky sod getting this army is definitely getting his moneys worth, the titan makes it!

Scar:

Hey all!!

Wanted to show you all the pictures of the workshop i gave!

It was a really great weekend with very cool students and great atmosphere.

Another one is planned in november more info coming soon.

Malorndk:

Great colors! Sounds chill <3

Skink:

Looks great

Where are you based in the Netherlands? This sounds like an event I would love to attend!!!

Scar:

Skink: Eindhoven

This message was automatically appended because it was too short.

Scar:

Hey all!

So now that the crazy heat wave with over 40 Celsius in my studio is gone i can finally paint again!!

So a bit of a delay in schedule but here we go again, SOH Reavers with jumppacks finished!

Tomorrow the Dreadclaws and Kharibdys

Carcearion:

"Raptors!!! Take The Point!"

Love these guys! Raptors have always been my favorite (that reminds me I need to get some new generation Raptors). The Horus Heresy style is quite cool. Hmmm… or are these guys technically assualt marines right now?

Scar:

Yeah sort of these are Warmaster Horus-es elite fighters

A bit over ambitious, tying to paint and 2 dreadclaw and a kharibdyss in 1 day is really to much, managed to finished 1 of the claws the rest will follow tomorrow

Carcearion:

Love the dread claw- always wish they would add them to the standard chaos marine codex.

wait a second… where does the flying stand connect???

Scar:

Thank m8, it has a block that slides on a fin that holds it in place… the block i drilled out so it could fit a round rod instead of the big and ugly GW fly stands.

Had to stop early today so missed about 1 hour on finishing the kharibdys… so only 1 more claw to show today! :frowning:

Carcearion:

They both look great!

So the fin kind of slides back into the block and sits tilted back slightly so it dosent slide forward?

Lol sorry to ask so many questions about the fly stand, it sounds ingenious.

Scar:

Thanks and yes Fully correct!!

Hi all!

So today some big updates!!

First of all the Kharibdys is finaly finished!:

Then i have some blood angels to show you, just a small force with a quick paintjob!

And last but not least the final pictures of the Sons of Horus army i painted over the last several weeks!
