Does anyone know where I can get some good resin bases for my Chaos Dwarf army? I went to a tournament recently and a guy there had some bases that were like bricks that were broken and dislodged. I have found some that are round but not square.
Again, great quality, but much slower delivery speed. The website is frequently down, but there ARE matching movement trays for each base set. Nice touch
I’ve dealt with the company before(not in bases) and not been disappointed. The bases are MUCH more ambitious than the others I mentioned, they’re a touch pricier and there’s less variety than Dragon Forge(more than BXoW)
I only ordered from them once. The quality of the casts was…lackluster in my case. I personally am not a fan, but they’re cheap as chips.
My personal recommendation is Dragon Forge. There’s a good compromise between price and quality($1 per 20mm base isn’t bad) the casts are good, the owner keeps in contact, and there’s plenty to choose from. Just be ready to wait a little while for them.(I’m on the East Coast US, so that may affect shipping times)
Off the top of my head, a few that I personally have experience with
Dragon Forge Design
http://www.dragonforge.com/
Slower deliveries(it's only one guy) but exceptional quality. Nary an air bubble to be found. Good selection

You sir are a star, I will be donating a slave to you in a moment. Thank you.
The last site you recommended actually had some brick ones so am going to give them a try but I will take into account what you said about the quality. I will probably place a small order and see what I think.
Once again, thank you for your help. It is easy to find sites using a google search but if you want to know what something is truly like, you need to ask those who have bought them before. There is no better teacher than experience and somebody always has the experience you need.

Sorry but their shop is not frequently down it is closed for holidays and such stuff, there is a big difference.
And shipping times are not long unless you order custome movement trays which is logical that they will take longer.
Also living in the US does not speed up the process as delievry times are something a shop can not influence!

Hope I can return the favour some day.

Thank you very much man! I've never heard anything outright BAD about Back to Base-ix mind. And the bases weren't outright BAD either, just needed some TLC to be ready. I hope to see how they work out for you around here soon:cheers

My mistake. I've come across the site a few times and just seen it was down. And perhaps it's just that on the few occasions I DO check in they just happen to be closed.
And as to delivery, yes it isn't in the company's power, but I do feel that bearing shipping it isn't beyond consideration(though honestly I'd rather wait for good bases than get ones I like less in a hurry). I like BXoW's stuff a lot, heck I'm basing my current army on a combination of them and Dragon Forge.
Also I suppose I should retroactively add that I only used the simplest and lowest level shipping, so it reflects more the postal service and their physical distance from me than anything about the company itself
I’ve bought from all but Dragon Forge. I personally like Base-X-of-War the best! They are cast well (never had any issues) and the matching custom sized movement trays put them over the top! They had a price rise this year though, as they use to be slightly cheaper
I have seen a couple I like but will wait to order until Base-X -of War is back online so I can see what they have to offer in order to make a well thought out decision.

Not that I am aware of, bases and trays cost the same as they did when they open up their shop in 2010
Bases still start from 2.60 for 5 as they did when they started out. Trays also still start from 2.60 and then dependant on size go up.
So I see NO price rise there!
I have noticed postage costs have rise though that due to an extreme price rise from the mail service and not due to Base-X-of-War
So where did you get that news from?

Fair enough though as you say waiting for top qaulity is worth it and I can not say that I have received fully cleaned, sanded bases & trays "straight of the box" ready to paint from any other company before.
If I need to wait a few more days for that i am all for it!!!!
- The prices for the 4 25mm and the 5 2mm is still 2.60.
Some of the larger bases have gone up though. You use to get 3 (I believe or maybe it was 2) cav bases for 1.80 and now you have to buy them for 1.80 each.

Sorry also incorrect, they have also allways been 1.50 never 1.80 each and they have also allways sold them seperatly never in two's or three's. Making them slightly cheaper then the 25x25mm bases
I think you are mixing a few things up there !! ;-)
Just had a quick glance at my last order November and one I did over a year ago, all base prices exactly the same appart from one or two very large unit filler bases that indeed have gone up by 0.30 but I really can not speak of a price rise which would effect a no buy.
But who cares! It is a little off topic
