The tale of Prince Anouilh ?" part 2
Battle of the Deep Cave
Weary of the hardships encountered on the mystical island the elves dragged their battered band of
survivors through the early morning mists in search of shelter. Many skirmishes with other exploratory
groups had been fought and time and again the elves chose flight instead of fight. Elven lives are precious
and rather flee before a stronger foe, until you yourself have become stronger, than let stubborn pride
become the coup-de-grace. Time is on the side of the righteous and the agents of destiny will never let the
powers of evil, death and corruption prevail. But what the host discovered in the cave while taking refuge
from the elements brought renewed strength to the exhausted elves.
Though the heart is forever pure, the will can be shaken. This was no more evident than in the messages
Prince Anouilh sent back to the White Tower in Hoeth on the Windrunner. Every moon phase more troubling
tales reached the shores of Ulthuan indicating to the worrying Loremaster that the ruinous powers had
indeed taken a foothold on the island, and more disturbing events were unravelling that might end the elven
race. The swordmasters had undoubtedly done their job well in gathering information and the time of
secrecy was indeed over.
A council was thus held wherein further actions was to be decided.
Anouilh had so far proved a great leader and preserved many lives in his search for knowledge of the island
but his defeats at the hands of the lesser races of Dwarf and Man had provoked the prideful minds of some
of the younger nobles of his court, and vengeance was the talk. A few even of the most hot-blooded
noblemen talked of coastal bombardments of Imperial towns and Dwarven holdings. Though was quickly
silenced by the composed majority who could see the conclusion to such a drastic measure. The most eager
were instead allowed to take to Cothique and assemble with the rest of the reinforcements.
The presence of the slaves to The Dark Gods was of much greater concern to the master of the White Tower;
Teclis and more knowledge of the degree the taint of chaos had penetrated into this part of the world. As
the gardener looks for and destroys the weed so do the Elves find and destroy the encroaching weed of their
garden. By wielding the untainted winds of Aethyr the elves could more easily combat Chaos and its servants
and Teclis allowed Anouilh?Ts brother Magnulion to depart with the spurred nobles to the assembly point
where the Windrunner would be waiting.
The sight and sounds of the illuminated figure moving about deeper within the cave filled Prince Anouilh?Ts
host with a dread not seen in an elven warband since the day on the Blighted Isle where the Widowmaker
spoke out to Tethlis and his subsequent murder in the hands of his White Lions for fear of the power held
within the cursed relic. The flight from the cave had been at a quickness even elven steeds would have had
trouble keeping pace with but due to the unnatural fear consuming the elven riders the steeds flew with
bone shattering swiftness towards the hidden archipelago where the Windrunner waiting for news from the
host.During the exploration a faint rumour of Druchii involvement on the island had been picked up by the
swordmasters and an encounter with the perverted dwarfs, so far from the hell pit known as Zharr-
Naggrund, coupled with the known presence of the followers of the ruinous powers, had in the cave shown
the elves a vision of the end of fate itself.
?oKhaela Mensha Khaine. Warrior, Slaughterer…Murderer. Who could have known that the living avatar of
the God of War and the end of time would be inhabiting this place. This island. Waiting for his kin to walk
into his domain and reawaken to finish the deed undertaken by the first Phoenix King Aenarion. I have seen
his form and it is nothing but light. As the prophecy states?
As Anouilh?Ts final message was read aloud for all council members to hear, Silence followed. The presence of
Gods in mortal realms was unheard of. Even the unholy ones could only summon lesser creatures to do their
bidding. The silence was interrupted by Teclis. The cold and calculating mind of the loremaster had long
since dissipated the thought of fear of walking Gods and was already thinking of ways to defeat them. As the
decision had already been made to send Magnulion to fight the chaos taint with his magic, so Teclis
speculated, could godhood be fought with warriors of other gods and the only god able to best Khaine was
the God of destiny itself Asuryan. A contingent of Phoenix Guards, warriors of Asuryan and guardians of the
Shrine of Asuryan were sent with Magnulion.
Meanwhile on a faraway island in a depthless dark cave big boss Bnox da Bright was still picking his nose
wondering why all those elves had run away as he was taking his afternoon stroll during the Squig feeding
hour.
